Spend time in the alpine on Colorado's 14ers and you'll undoubtedly see marmots. Some of these "yellow-bellied" marmots actually have yellow bellies, while others are almost solid black and gray. Why?
Colorado State University Biology Professor Greg Florant, PhD, shares his wealth of knowledge about why Colorado's marmots are they way they are, how their reproductive cycle works throughout the year, and why it will largely be juvenile marmots running around in August and September long after their parents have gone into their subterranean burrows to hibernate for the winter.
Thanks to the Colorado Tourism Office (@Colorado) for funding to help support the development of this alpine animal video series.
