Coach Clyde Buffalo NY. I've watched many different coaches on KZbin videos & Coach Anthony is the best by far. I agree on everything he teaches. I have seen coaches teach the jab, & when throwing it they pivot on their lead foot. Now the punch is going straight but your energy is going to your right (if your orthodox)by pivoting. Why would you teach that. Coach Anthony is teaching you the right way. If you want to learn "The sweet science of Boxing" the correct way all you have to do is watch Coach Anthony's videos. Believe me he knows what he's talking about.

These videos are very good! It is extracurricular learning from a different source from the ground up for me. No matter how advanced one gets, or thinks that they are, the foundation is in the basics. Thanks for making these! Most coaches will not teach you or share their knowledge and secrets without the exchange of money, and share their deepest methods with only a select few.

@evgeniantelo96978 жыл бұрын
Great videos, very informative, however, when you're stepping with the lead foot when throwing the jab you're putting your heel down first and then the toe and it should be toe heel. Also, ideally the back foot should be on the metatarsus or the inside part of the ball of your foot at all times.
@CoachAnthonyBoxing7 жыл бұрын
Evgeni Antelo I wasn't stepping heel to toe maybe it seemed that way but you definitely need to be on the balls of your feet ...as stepping on your heel would ruin balance

Tom Yanchello posted a couple of videos years ago in which he claimed that the rear foot should be positioned at 90 degrees with the heel resting on the ground, mentioning videos of past world champions. What do you think about it?

I learning so much from u. Got a question for u. How do u fight against someone thats coming at u in windmill punches thats steady coming at u????? How do u defend that?
@ntwcasbcf-31567 жыл бұрын
Shelley Hunter do what the coach was saying on the video on the part were he explains the jab with no step. you would get in rhythm(getting on your toes) and circle him/her left and right and let the person throw windmill punches making them come forward. when they come forward and you step back and circle you pop them with a standing jab then move and when you see the chance you throw the stepping jab followed by a really hard or fast punch(right hand works good most of the time). Afterward watch those powerful loopy punches slow down dramatically and your opponent get tired which will make him/her yours to do as you wish.

Do you have a higher risk of damaging wrist over a straight up and down jab
@CoachAnthonyBoxing8 жыл бұрын
+That Guy I don't believe so The turn over of the punch is what generates more power also it can help create the cut as the friction on the skin can tear ...Hurting the wrist can only happen really if the punch doesn't land correctly and you bend the wrist Turning a punch over if done correctly shouldn't cause that
