The main point is to facilitate the coachee to identify with the root cause of their issue or suffering if you Will, and find the way out. The beauty of the art coaching here is that the client is doing the work, she is applying herself, she moves through phases, she observes herself from both perspectives; hers as well as the party that she has problems interacting with. At the end she is the hero of the process and her dignity is remained intact. The coach masterfully stayed out of it. Remained calm with beautiful and transparent eyes and face expression, creating safety and assurance for her client to arrive to a practical and methodical solution to better the quality of her life. Here there is no room left for criticizing anyone. This meeting was organic and unfolded effortlessly...it was not a movie...it was raw and real. Life experience is so valuable. It brings humility as well as relatability. It was so great to see that she was free at the end. It felt so great. I could relate to her. Indeed the fact that she comes out and reaches help is commendable. Goes to show the power of seeking. I really enjoyed the coaches' presence. In about 15 minutes I am having an interview which leads to signing up for a coaching program. So happy that I watched this clip before hand🌷☀️💝 thank you so much

Fantastic, absolutely masterful coaching! So natural, so ‚connected‘, so many good questions. At the minute 16:50-58 please correct the transcript- something very beautiful is said: I want to show that I care with less doing and MORE BEING (not ‚worrying‘). Thanks for this recording!!!!

The song I use (mentioned near the end of the session that a song would support my forward action)is: STOP! IN THE NAME OF LOVE by the Supremes. It's been working and our relationship is transforming, beginning with me!

The coachee appears even visibly gentler and less intense when she ported from being the superhero to become a person of being instead of doing. thanks

Good noticing, Steven. With the uncertainty and anxiety in the world coaching is a positive influence for wholeness. Thank you for your observation and comment. Our upcoming Authentic Self Presence program has a section on Being. Here's the link to check it out--www.invitechange.com/advance-as-coach/authentic-self-presence-coaching

One of the things I dislike about coaching (I’m training to be a coach) is that there isn’t an opportunity to investigate the root cause of this clients need to get a reward for helping people? Great topic and session
@inviteCHANGE2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, Katy. A great thing about coaching is that you get to choose the opportunities you create for your clients, as your artfulness is unique to you. It's possible to investigate and go deep on any topic that feels worthy of more exploration. That's one way that the coach in this session could have gone, and they didn't choose to go there this time. However, it may be something worth exploring in another session with the client to dedicate more time for it - or even to work alongside another human development professional if there may be a question of ethics. Always remember, while there are certain values, standards and practices an ICF Credentialed coach must follow - you as the coach get to ultimately make the rules. There is very little red tape when it comes to professional coaching, and you always get to explore topics from all different angles if that's what the client wants.

@@inviteCHANGE from my beginning understanding of the difference between coaching and psychotherapy, the root cause is not as important as helping the coachee find a way forward to manage herself towards her desired outcome. If the coach believes that it might be very important for the coachee to discover the cause, then that might be a case for referral to a therapist. Coaches are not (always) therapists, and sometimes it is okay and correct to refer a client to the correct helping service. Am I right in this?

00:02:20 - « So basically, if I understand well, you are aware of shifting from heart centered to an expectation thinking - from your heart to your head, and because you don't enjoy it, you want to control it and create a specific mechanism to remain heart centered, is that correct? Then, I would like to check the « Identification » mark with « Do you enjoy yourself when people look at you as a giving, generous, loving human being? What would be the opposite of those traits? How would you perceive somebody with those opposites traits? » Then, after leading her in connecting with the moment switch happened, I would probably be intersted in asking « You have the permission to feel and answer whatever comes in your mind: what are those expectations? What would you like to receive back? » Then, I would move on the opposite perspective and ask « When is the last time that you felt anger and how did you manage to express it? ». Then, I would say « We are human being living in duality - the unity comes after complete acceptance of this duality. That means, we can be both creative and desctructive. When we are constantly creating, the part of us that want to destruct might get frustrated. When we are constantly giving, the part of us that want to receive might get frustrated. Are there any part of you that might feel frustrated right now? »

Merci beaucoup sharing the journey with coach/client during this session. The paradox of generative coaching is holding all truths in wholeness, moving beyond duality into centeredness, bringing forward what's needed/wanted to context. The Tensions of Presence is the "both and..." Check out our website and let's keep this conversation going. You've brought out rich insights in your comments.

I feel this coachee's pain as my own!! I need some declassification of ego behavior!

Thanks, Shannon, for sharing your challenge with us. We checked in with the coachee and her relationship with her son has shifted dramatically and positively over time out of this and one other session. Her inner life is less pain and far more blessing. Coaching supported what she wanted to create in her life and the song was a totem to remind her as she shifted from reactivity to response.

Invite change, do you have a place where you have analyzed the various coaching demo videos to help us understand what makes each demo good for each level and how each level can go to the next level? Thanks!

Jen. We haven't done that, but it's been on our list for a while. Let me bounce that around the team and see if I can get someone to take it on as a project.

its surprising that the questions that the coach is asking are mostly close ended
@inviteCHANGE4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your observations. Two things you may consider: First, every coach is different with curiosity and choice points. This coach and client have worked together for years, so there is a familiarity. Second, an MCC is adept at blurting, bringing an insight forward that could sound "close ended". Again our thanks for commenting. Scroll up to see comments from another coach.
