Driving irons are very overrated. Look at pros bags. Tons have 7 woods, some have what would be considered high lofted hybrids too. Wood tech has gotten as controllable as irons along with increased forgiveness and playability.

I think all golfers benefit from verbalizing the shot before hitting. Sometime the shear stupidity becomes more apparent and you play to safety...others you pull off more often.

Handicap is measure of potential and is 3 stokes better than your average score. So scratch golfers average 3 over par. That’s why scratch amateurs have no chance of competing with pros that are +4,+6
