Good man yourself for keeping going when you're not enjoying it, I know it was for a worthy charity and your a good man for not bailing when others would.

Thanks mate. I did enjoy some of it, but on the whole I didn't. I think I'll do it again in the future though. This was originally disrupted due to coronavirus and then a little bit rushed with regards to final planning, all of which I think contributed greatly to my lack of enjoyment. Hopefully next time will be different. It's the first trail that I've really felt like that, I usually really enjoy them even when it gets tough. Thanks for watching. Atb Shaun

Good to see you had a dry day an very scenic walk. Good to see you pushing on, as it has not been easy for you and doing a 22 mike hike is a real tough call mind. I love the honest box (fridge) and well done you for you generous donation to them. A well deserved few tins of pop I think cheers Alan

Cheers Alan. I failed on my last long distance walk, the Cleveland Way and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't prepared to let that happen again, I would've regretted it if I hadn't have pushed one. Anyway it was a much more pleasant walk and that honesty fridge was amazing! Never been so happy for a can of cold pop and a chocolate bar! lol. Thanks for watching. Atb Shaun

Getting there shaun ,I think you've had a rough time of it what with terrible weather, kit been drenched ,accommodation was shite , and this covid 19 hasn't helped I really admire your strength of character to continue I've known many of person's would have chucked it by now , this is what I mean to keep these videos when you retire so you can always look back and say I done that and pass on some tips good on you shaun

Thanks mate. Even though the thought did cross my mind, I would never have sacked it as I had a few doubters before I started and I really wanted to stick it too them. I'm a larger gentlemen, let's say, so get that quite often. Plus, I always wanted to do this walk and I would've been really angry with myself and thoroughly regretted it if I had sacked it. You're right it is nice to look back on these experiences, I already do to be honest. Watched my Great Glen Way trip the other day to remind of that and I forgot just how much I enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting, always nice to hear your views. Atb Shaun

@@BASHADweller when I was it my fittest people used to say to me all the time he's to big he'll never get up those mountains now that's the worst possible thing you could say to me I'm 6ft and 18 stone that was then so I used to go very quickly up mountains to prove a point which it did what they didn't know was that I used to train with some army pals of mine regularly which included 2 Royal marine commandos , 1 PTI , and 1 paratrooper the jist of the story is people should never judge a book by it's cover

PPP as some people would say :) I didn't think there were many resupply points on the C2C apart from Ennerdale and Rosthwaite.
@BASHADweller4 жыл бұрын
I prefer the 7 P's myself :) Yeah there isn't many especially on the earlier sections, but there is enough. It was made more difficult throughout though as the opening times of establishments and shops proved to be drastically different to that stated in my guide book due to coronavirus. Hi Shaun, I'm agonising what tent to buy - I'm looking at the Banshee 200 but I need to know if it will be big enough for me - I'm reasonably slim build but almost 6' 2" tall - tent long enough? could I 'sit up' but no doubt hunched? Does the foot end cause problems with end of a sleeping bag? I could go for a Banshee 300 but the weight starts adding up. If you were to buy again what would you buy? Many thanks. J.
@BASHADweller4 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, I'm 5'11 and it's long enough for me but it might mean your head or feet touching the inner as I'm not far off it when laid flat. It's plenty wide enough for me and all of my kit. It's meant to be 2 man but it isn't. You can't sit up in it properly but that doesn't bother me. For the money they can't be beaten and I've absolutely battered mine and only had to change the small ridge pole in the time I've had it. I would buy another if/when this fails, I rate them that much. I would suggest trying to find someone who has one and test it out to see how much head room you would have since you're taller than me, easier said than done I know. That would be my only concern for someone your height, other than that it's a cracking tent. Hope that helps. Atb Shaun

@@BASHADweller Hi again, brace yourself, even with 15% discount DDS card, the Banshee 200 is now about £119 (Go Outdoors) whereas a Banshee 300 is about £122 (Blacks / Milletts). Apparently camping equipment prices have rocketed with the public choosing to camp, here in UK, and not have a holiday abroad. Cheers.
@BASHADweller4 жыл бұрын
@@sonofFredBLoggs Bloody hell, that is quite a hike! Sure mine was about 70 quid. Remember if you do find it cheaper that Go Outdoors will beat it in store👍 Good luck in your search, hope you find a decent and affordable tent soon. You could always just buy a tarp and cheap walking poles and make a tarp tent. Atb Shaun
