Honestly, I agree it is personal. But after watching Mindy and her husband on Ramit's podcast, I want to do it her way. Mindy's financial reserves are phenomenal! I was very impressed! I'll be 37 in September and I need to start now to get to that point. I'm worried that I'll never get to that point because I feel like I have already started too late. *And I know it's not too late* I just honestly don't know how to start. But I feel like the more that I watch your videos, the more I learn how to do that. So thank you for continuing to show us how to be more financially frugal and to look forward to retirement instead of looking at it with worry.

I'm also currently at "Coast FI". I can relate to how Jessica and her husband were fresh out of college. I had a net worth of around -$20K. The job I managed to land was paying me around $30K annually. I'm glad my curiosity led me to meet people who were financially responsible and taught me how to invest. Two more properties and I'm good to quit my job.

I love the hosts, but this is yet another guest giving vague explanations on how to make her income. Since she has developed her business as a lifestyle and career coach, I'm more interested in how she set up her business entity, advertises, how she gets household chores done, and pays the bills while becoming an entrepreneur. It isn't clear if she's retired now, or just her husband. Ar theye debt free or getting there? Please ask your guests to cover these important points. What does Coast Financial Independence mean? Thanks

what about older individuals who are just beginning their journey to Fi . most of the people taking about Fire /Co fi are young people in there 30-40s.

It's the same regardless. It's just a matter of whether you will reach FI before or after you reach retirement age. If you retire before reaching FI, then you determine if you can scale back your lifestyle to make it work. It's the best we can all do. Keep in mind that the longer you keep working, the less you'll need. We don't live forever. So if it takes until 90 reach 25X your yearly expense invested, you worked too long.

Where do you all work that you receive “matched contributions for retirement “? I work in the hospital as a medical professional ( NOT doctor) and receive ZERO matched contribution!

I don't envision reaching FI then saying, now what? We already have so many hobbies that we don't have enough time and energy to commit to them. If I get to FI before retirement age, I'll keep working. Since we wouldn't need the money from the job, I'd use it to have fun without dipping into investments.

Really good content. The vocal fry with the upspeak, uptalk, or high rising intonation is really distracting though. It gives the impression she doesn't have confidence in what she is saying. We women no longer need to make ourselves cute little bunnies anymore. Speak your truth girl! Use you REAL voice.

I think a good way to take women seriously is to listen to what she says, rather than how her voice sounds.

Sounds like it's a health issue to me

😄 my thoughts exactly but can’t complain since I’m here to learn. However, the voice and rising intonation made me want to just skip this video but stuck it out.

I thought she might be stoned during this interview honestly. That's what the way she talks sounds like to me. Maybe she uses weed for whatever her mental health issues were/are. Lots of people do use medicinally. It's a great interview regardless of how she sounds with great content!

Yeah, I'm with you there. Her content is fantastic but she could benefit from some vocal coaching. Her use of the word, 'Right' far too often distracted me from the content for quite some time.
