Castle Daelenbroek in Herkenbosch is not on the Belgium border, although it is not far away (15km), but on the German border (2km). You can probably see Germany from your hotel room window.

Last year we stayed in the citadel of Sedan, France. A very big fortress, with nice hotel-rooms, including a lift 😊

My definition of a castle is that it has to be fortified, with a wall and a moat or on a hard to reach place, like a mountain top, the rest are "Palaces" to me and only built to impress and show how much money they've got! 🤷‍♂️ But i do love the elaborate architecture of those! 👌🏼✌🏼

We are sure that the castles that were built on these locations were built with more fortification before they were destroyed by war. But we can still appreciate the rebuilt castles for what they are now!

Again a great video. You are spoiling us. Dunno which castle I like most. I guess when you turn a castle into a hotel, you'll have to compromise. Add some luxury and lose some authenticity. It must be hard. And expensive! You didn't mention what the costs are for a stay, the food, the mini-bar? No shots of the lobby's. Was the staff friendly you think? It looks like you were the only people staying there? Just the way you like it I'm sure. Despite the weather you made the best of it. But then, Katrina likes all kinds of weather, so... My favorite shot was her sitting and looking outside listening to the thunder. You should do yourselves a favour and move to the countryside. Almost 6.000 subscribers. Come on!

It's quite logical that the real old castle's didn't have tv's. Imagine watching tv through the slits in your harness helmet. Or using the remote with your chainmail gloves. And besides that, there wasn't Netflix yet, so what's the point. For those simple medieval people KZbin was more than enough.
