Coastal Exploration UK | Push Netting at Minnis Bay with the Entire Family

This is my second push netting video as I explore the inner shore line of the uk with some help from my family. They all joined me on this one as they were interested and excited to see what lurks in the sea. In this video the push netting all went the same way, from East to West but still at varying distances from the shore. This session was more productive that my last at Hampton, Herne Bay but it still wasn't the best so plenty of room for improvement.

Hi Greg good to see the next generation showing interest. From a bad experience on the beach without foot protection I would strongly advise cheap foot protection for all.

It's something I will get and definitely the reason I took them to minnis Bay. I don't want them to go through the pain of a poisonous black spine🤦‍♂️👍

I think they have a lifespan of 5yrs approx so I would say they grown pretty quick in the 1st year. It's good to see the tiny life although I did expect more🤔

I love it! Went last week in west Sussex, but it wasn’t a good spot: too stony. East Sussex last year was great: loads of shrimp, weavers, various flat fish and lots of baby bass and little whitebait. Cooked the shrimp and ate them on the beach😋 If I’m a good boy, I might get to have a try in Kent in September….

Always a good day out with the kids on the beach and we'll done on getting them involved that can be the biggest battle lol nice to see plenty of dabs for the samples you did .

Tbh it's a little poor for the area and I think it has something to do with recent sewage leaks but at least we found something 👍

Hi Greg, I have had a fair bit of success shrimping at Greatstone with the added interest for the children of loads of little sole, swimming crabs and starfish. We even had a perfect miniature Thornback about 20cm across the wings. Everything returned alive with the exception of the shrimps which were boiled up on the beach.

11m 33sec: You're unlikely to get a shark in your push net, but they are there - particularly this time of year. I remember (as a child in the late 70s) 2 miles up the coast (at Margate) a boy was crabbing with his father in the tidal pool at low tide and caught a 3ft long baby blue shark.
