Royal Enfield Classic 350; Commuting again!, Stainless pipe with baffle out!

I decided to use the Hitchcocks FREE FLOW Stainless Exhaust on the proper longer fitting as it should be fitted and I am going to use it fitted with the stock baffle...
HOWEVER! I was back Commuting again on Thursday as weather has improved so just for today I removed the baffle from exhaust as folk wanted to hear what it sounds like open!
It is a bit too loud though straight through for early morning and generally not getting drawing attention...
Oh and I have since filming this decided to spray it black to be in keeping with the stealth army design of my bike, that is now done and that will be in the next film up on Saturday morning...
It does sound nice though! esp when opened up un baffled!

Hi Bruce, it's been a long time since I last made a comment, but thought.. why not? Since buying my signals, I've done the lot, including camshaft. I run mine PERMANENTLY without the baffle and I have to say, it really not that loud. Original burgess silencers from the 40's, 50's and 60's were louder. I regularly ride with a mate who has a 1937 Norton ES2 500 single and his louder than mine with the baffle out. The old saying "loud pipes save lives" definitely has a point, as you really notice numty half asleep car drivers taking notice. It you want to head loud, my 82, R80 Beemer, with reverse cones megga's....that effin loud.. Seriously 😂 good to see your channels is still doing well. Probably because you tell it as it is, without bullshit! 👍

You can tell the sound carries farther when the bike is upwind to the camera. You could mount a small spear on the front mud gard and claim it's for making pheasant kabobs. 😎

Classic Bike Shop (amongst a load of others) do a range of similar baffles from 35mm to 53.5mm OD so you might find one from there that can be hacked about. Sound wise, I prefer the sound with the baffle in.

I’ve had my Hitchcocks exhaust on for over a year now, I live on a park home estate where everyone is over fifty and believe me if it bothered anyone I would soon know about it ! I ride it a lot in the better weather and I just keep the revs down when coming and going, there’s not a lot of difference between baffle in and baffle out. 😊

Sounds great, although well done for considering the neighbours. Living near a coastal resort, get all the weekend warriors come down on a sunny day, can hear them a good 3 miles off. Never bothered me but the locals complain and the old bill as a result do end up seizing a few every year, most do not realise the 89dB limit for exhaust systems for road use.

I put my headphones on for this and both sounded great but I prefer the baffle in as the low end bark is there and mid to high end it made the engine sound more refined.

Sounds awesome with baffle out at low revs, but when revving higher I think baffle in sounds better. With neighbours to consider I think baffle in is definitely the way to go.

Hi, i did think about the 16t again but with the top speed still round 73mph and the amount of time i spend on winding country roads i think standard gear ratio is dam near perfect for myself 😁👍

Sound's great.. Is there any difference in the bikes performance? I noticed when I put the standard Silencer back on (without the CAT) the bike defo had more torque..😮

Hi Stevie, i think it feels smoother with the Hitchcocks pipe though hard tote differences from a seat of the pants ride when there is more noise involved that kind if tricks your mind its better! 😁👍
