All custom tractors if I recall another YT video, standard commercial ones might have gears that span 3-5mph, think these heavy haulers are stepped down 2-3x more so every gear is like 1mph lol

What they actually have is a torque converter gearbox and a huge cooler for the transmission fluid to be able to vent the heat from all the slip! It is the only way to be able to start from a standstill on bigger inclines without braking some gears!

Roughly 11 hours. Departed Ipswich Docks just after 1100 and passed through Brockford Street at roughly 2100. It was meant to depart at 0600. I have to admit I was a bit too tired to keep track of its progress after Brockford, but we can imagine it was around 2200 as Yaxley is just up from Brockford.

Wow, just landed on this and I am now addicted, how long does it take to cordinate the huge number of resources to move massive loads like this? Are those MAN tractor specially designed for this type of work? I dare say the bill for delivering this generator would be a pretty penny.

It is addicting! 😍 Not so sure about this particular move but a previous abnormal load of a similar size (an oxygen tanker) took 2 years to plan. Yes the MAN tractors are designed specifically for this kind of heavy haulage. Oh yes these things aren't cheap! There's plenty of articles and documents out there that detail these things.

Heavily depends on the speed they go. But at full power these are probably consuming 200l/h. Take two of them and that is 400l/h for going maybe 2 miles. That could be like 50 gallons per mile, not too bad in the scheme of things. On UK fuel pricing that would be about 150£/mile in fuel.

It is the tele-lens effect. You can see half of all the wheels of the first trailer are still on the bridge while the load is already halfway.

There is a weak spot in the asphalt due to a tiny river below the road. The bridge is to put load away from the weak spot.

What is the culvert made of and how wide is it? If its an arch, it could easily take the weight. Arch bridges are the strongest bridge design. The 365 tonnes are spread over several wheels and its a tiny gap. Less than a metre? This seems like a big fuss over nothing.

Why take a risk of a bridge collapsing and putting this whole job in jeapody. I'm not even sure I should be explaining this to someone sitting behind a screen. I'm pretty sure, as do many people with a brain that these guys know what they are doing. You however have no clue

"Generators to combat power shortages are stuck at Dublin Port as they are too heavy for M50" Irish Independent. I wonder if Allelys have been contacted?

To span a culvert under the road that couldnt take the weight of the truck so build a bridge that "moves " the load bearing to either side of the culvert and keeps the weight off of it
