I have been taking her out in a cage lately. As she is older I worry about handling her too much.

Ik I'm late but if you harness train them properly they shouldn't bite it too much if at all

Yeah i agree with the other comments. If you train properly they wont bite it much or will just nibble whike they try to adjust feathers. But the aviator harness on amazon is the best harness available. It is all one piece. They cant slip out of it. And it would take a long time to chew through it

Yes the bird can bite through it I've gone through three of them in fact with one of them from Leathers for feathers my lovebird was able to chew right through it in less than 20 minutes honestly making a leash out of leather for a parent is a bad idea we buy them leather chew toys what do you think they're going to do when you strap leather on to their chest ridiculously expensive harness for the shity quality they have

@@cinemacomix1535 no it won't take as long as you think had a lovebird chew rate through an aviator in just three outings in the car of less than 20 minutes each yes I understand you have to watch and train your bird but they will chew right through these things as for The Aviator being all one piece that's its biggest downfall there pain in the ass to put on and if you go somewhere and you want your bird to be able to freefly you got to remove the dam harness cuz the leash won't remove on its own

Harness on a bird is simply wrong ! And cruel I'm sure it's loved but if you are meant to fly would you like it ? ... sure he's loved but he should know what grass is naturally

A harness is so that your birds wings can grow out and they can fly around the house, but once outside, they can't fly away and then you won't have a bird. If anything, it's worse to clip a birds wings than to put a harness on it for a little while.

Skymoreon : agreed. our cockatiel was clipped when we got her and we let her grow out her wings. she's much happier flying around. 😊 we just ordered a harness so we can now take her outside for a bit, enjoy the fresh air, and spend more time with us without worrying about losing her.

Some areas have hawks, falcons, coyotes and cats. Not sure if you want your bird to fly out and get snatched and eaten by one. I do believe they should fly happily, but since they are somewhat domesticated, they will stick out like a burr to seasoned predators
