Oh good, a multi-part present opening series! Every present gets its own playtime and poop -- "unboxing and first impressions". I hope he likes that lighter weight. He seems to enjoy the longer toss distance. We'll see how he settles in to his preferences. Toss vs. thunk, or in terms of human cereal, sweet vs. crunch (pun intended). I look forward to Part II. That next present might be an out-of-print edition of intermediate microeconomics. Something to dress up the cave!

@gth042. I honestly didn't think he would enjoy the lighter weight. He tends to always want things heavy - the heavier the better. But he LOVES it!! As to the out-of-print edition of Intermediate Microeconomics... not so much, but he did get a cockatoo-safe version of The Night Before Christmas. After he opened it I started reading it, and he climbed onto my lap and snuggled for about 5 pages. Then he climbed down to roll his dumbbell around some more. 😂

@StizelSwik He is well, thank you for asking. 🙂. Benji came to us with around half of his feathers missing. He no longer plucks them, but he killed a great many follicles during his troubled times, so those feathers will never grow back.

@nolabachiu7690. He is. Benji gets the downstairs, and I get the upstairs. I spend 3-6 hours a day with him down in his play space. He sometimes joins me upstairs, but he prefers to be in his own area. He has free rein there, as it's been set up for his safety, as well as the house's safety. In contrast, when he's upstairs I'm always watching him to make sure he doesn't chew on the baseboards, wall corners, doors, window trim, electrical cords, furniture, food he shouldn't eat, plants he shouldn't eat, etc, etc... And he HATES to hear the word "no." He hears it often upstairs. Oh, and the downstairs is also kept at a happy cockatoo temperature and humidity level (75-80F, 50-60%), while upstairs is at a happy human temp and humidity level (65-70F, 30-40%). 🙂

@divineangelic2727. I include text with all of Benji's videos, which explains his feathers. He is a former plucker, and came to us with about half the usual number of feathers a U2 should have. 😔. Many of his feather follicles died during his plucking years, so he will always be short on his feather inventory. He no longer pulls his feathers, but thank you for your concern! 🙂
