Ingredients:
2 tbsp oil
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon Urad Dal
2 slit green chilies
2 sticks of Curry leaves
1 medium-sized onion
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
A pinch of Hing/Asafetida powder
250 g Bhendi (Okra)
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
2 tbsp roasted peanuts
1/4 cup coconut powder
Salt to taste
Recipe:
Tempering:
In a pan, add 2 tbsp of oil. Add 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, and 1 teaspoon Urad Dal. Fry for 2 minutes until the Urad Dal turns golden.
Add two slit green chilies and two sticks of Curry leaves. Fry for an additional 1 minute. Add one medium-sized onion. Fry for about 4 minutes. Add 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, and a pinch of Hing/Asafetida powder. Fry for 1 minute.
Adding Bhendi:
Add 250 g of Bhendi to the dish. Fry for about 7 to 8 minutes on medium flame.
Add 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder, 2 tbsp roasted peanuts, 1/4 cup coconut powder, and salt to taste.
Mixing and Cooking:
Give it a good stir, cover with a lid, and let it cook for 3 more minutes.
Serve:
