Hi all, this video is a re-upload of the Cocteau Twins Documentary from May 2022. My reasoning for taking down the original video was due to a minor error. When discussing the Heaven or Las Vegas tour, I mentioned that The Veldt was the opening act. While saying this, I mistakenly showed a picture of Majesty Crush. In May of 2022 I was unfamiliar with Majesty Crush and The Veldt, but now I can say I am a fan of both groups. I went back and changed the picture to The Veldt (provided to me by Danny Chavis himself) and reverified all the pictures in this video. Apologies for the confusion.

I discovered the Cocteau Twins in mid-eighties thanks to 89.5 WFIT in Melbourne, Florida. I could not process, nor wanted to their otherworldly, heavenly sound that transported my soul to the nether regions of reality. They completely changed my comprehension of music and I will never be the same. I have owned four of their masterpieces and listen to them still. I hope they all live out their lives in peace, love, and tranquility and I wish them all of the love in the world. God bless them, their families, and may their futures be better and more complete than they ever could hope or imagine!

They are so hard on that town they came from - it’s actually in a beautiful part of Scotland, between Edinburgh and Glasgow. I lived in the area for 3 months. They really overstate the misery quotient. I have been a fan of the Cocteau Twins since I was 14 in 1984; I’m from Seattle. The Cocteau Twins had a steady presence on the U.S. college charts, especially with Blue Bell Knoll, and Heaven or Las Vegas. I was a college dj in 1991-92, and followed the college charts since I was about 13. I saw them during that last tour. It was great. So lucky.

Treasure was the first CT album that I bought and I remember thinking that not only have I never heard anything like this before in music, but it also has a deeply emotional and blissful effect on me while listening. Years later I read somewhere that Robert Smith, frontman of one of my favorite bands, The Cure, listened to this album when getting ready for the ceremony on his wedding day. I totally understand why anyone would choose this album to listen to for a major life event like this.

This band was really from another planet! I loved the first CD for it's GOTH street cred, but ended up buying 4 more soon after because they're just so chill and beautiful. 4AD also spawned another of my favs, “Dead Can Dance” who also sing in “gibberish” and ALSO expanded from a GOTH debut into the stratosphere! (Documentary on them would be cool!) It’s amazing to realize how much music was altered by the Post-Punk movement during that era (I turned 18 in '87). It absolutely EXPLODED in musical possibilities! No wonder so many modern Artists cite them as inspiration. That really warms this old Goth/Metal dude’s heart! 🤘 ✌

Cocteau Twins were the best band ever. Their works until Love's easy Tears are complete masterpieces. But they shoul have ended after releasing that EP. Blue Bell Knoll shows a complete decadence of the band. For the first time, not all the songs are great songs. In fact, only half of them are. Heaven Or Las Vegas, the next, is a complete disaster. Easy, commercial and poor. The following albums, Four Calendar Cafe and Milk And Kisses are completely irrelevant. We can find there only a song that is good, Seekers Who Are Lovers. Fortunately we had Garlands, Treasure, Head Over Heels, Victorialand and all those great EPs.
