Nice long run. Starts off on the Freeway...going through country roads, before arriving at the call for service in a nearby town. We even get some air @ about 6:40

6:11.... going so fast the speed sign doesn't even turn on
@ObtainEmployment7 жыл бұрын
+TheZombaslaya That's actually a programmed feature -- on my ridealong, I passed an electronic sign going about 85. I asked why it didn't activate and the officer stated that they're designed to shut off past a certain speed to discourage abuse by people wanting to drag race / catch a "high score" indicated by the sign.

The rush of adrenaline/heart racing when you are going at these speeds is hard to describe. ITS ADDICTING! After my first ride along I felt the need to go again! :) lol! Crazy right? I did! Applied for ride alongs in our other two districts. Only went code three once on my second ride along but not my third. Third one was a bit quite. Good for the citizens not for the adrenaline junky. :) lol!

Guessing we were in a Crown Vic here, and will admit, still for being a Older Model that has been around which seems like almost Forever for police departments, this car really had the Get up and go and that is why even today, they are still being SLOWLY phazed out of all of the departments, still a number ofd them are still hanging around, they may never equal up to what the New Chargers and possibly the NEwest Dodge Durango have under the hood in the way of Horsepower, but these came REALLY CLOSE...but hate to know that its almost the End of a Era for the Crown Victorias after all of these years.....

great video, but I have one question: what speed were you doing on the highway? For being a car-based unit, it doesn't really seem fast to me. To be honest, I'm used to drive at a speed of 137 mph when going to work / heading home with my private car (not driving code 3), and the fastest blood and organ transport car at my EMS station is capable in doing 162 mph...
@Elite1999 жыл бұрын

+EnjoyFirefighting - International Emergency Response Videos Als wenn du mit 220km/h über die Autobahn fährst... Was hast du fürn Auto? 240PS?

I always wondered how the tires are able to withstand those high speed runs with any of them blowing, but I guess that they must use some special tires that are almost like racing tires that can withstand high speeds, actually looked one time and noticed that alot of them use what are called Goodyear Eagle Ultra-Grips, and these really must be sticky tires..........Imagine doing this kind of speed for almost 100 Miles straight, I had one not too long back where they actually averaged 100 miles per hour for almost 100 miles, now that must have been a major rush.......
@EnjoyFirefighting9 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Silva you don't really need any special tires. I'm from Germany, maybe you heard of our highways (at least 2/3rds of them) don't have any speed limit. My normal cruising speed on the highway is at 137 mph. The top speed I am going is 160 mph. I don't have any special tires on my car, and in contrast to such a relatively short code 3 run, I drive that speed for several hours, going across the country
@mtejada18 жыл бұрын
All you really need is Z rated tires
@Robdizzle20108 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Silva Though you technically don't need special tires, Most Of Us use what you called Pursuit Rated Tires on our Patrol Units.
@pizzasubs8 жыл бұрын
+Robdizzle2010 taking a guess tthose tires you are talking about here, must have extra tred on them compared to regular tires that probaly give you the extra grip, right
@Robdizzle20108 жыл бұрын
Yes sir! They also have less of a chance of blowing out. The link below is just an example of pursuit rated tires. www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/tirecatalog/Firestone/FirehawkGTPursuit/

+samsquanch1996 It's in Tehama County. If you pause as they're passing some of the road signs it says Tehama. There's no interstates here in Sonoma County, and there would be more vineyards instead of orchards.

+Chuck Humphrey why? because there is too many dumb fucks out there and if someone collides with the patrol car they can say "Oh, We ran code, so it wasent our fault for speeding" even though it may not be their fault in the first place, its a good way to cover your ass from getting in troble.

Really? Soundproof? To a siren/horn blaring maybe 200 feet behind you? I sincerely doubt that
@ObtainEmployment7 жыл бұрын
Chun Lee You have to understand the amount of wind noise a car suffers at highway speeds, especially older cars, plus the possibility that the driver had a radio playing. The driver had to pass a truck in order to yield, anyway.
