Work Update!

Glad your job is going great! You will get a coding job in no time, I currently work at a FQHC as a switchboard operator, I started on April 2017, took my CPC exam for the second time in October and passed. The coding position at my job was open since July 2017 but it never got filled due to the government not providing long term funding for community health centers. The government finally completed funding yesterday and I found out I was selected for the coding position, they were just waiting to get more funding to bring in new positions. I said all of that to say it just takes patience but God will always open the right doors for you. When I interviewed for the job it was initially for a medical billing specialist but I didn't get it and they placed me on the switchboard. It was very frustrating but I developed new skills and learned to have patience with others. You will do great on your exam and be hired in no time! 😀

What is the average salary for coder now?

Khalida Batarseh in Wisconsin where I live the average salary is $45,000-$48,000 depending on experience. For me as a new coder with minimal coding experience I will probably be in the $40,000-$45,000 range!

Hi Kate! A week prior your test, I got mine as CCS passing the test (yei! Congratulations to us!!!!) I have a big concern, besides having my certification (witch is Abigail deal) I do not have any experience professionally talking as CCS. Could you help me out and give ideas and recommendation on how to star my resume as coder? And if you could share any tips on interviewing on your 1st job opportunity? Thank you! Alex W
