That’s crazy I thought Smile 2 was way better than the original. Everything felt bigger and the stakes felt higher and most importantly the pace felt so much more natural than the original did. I think the reality play was one of the best part! Not knowing what’s real and what isn’t especially trough out the end of the movie mindfucked me so hard. I do agree that it is in a way exhausting, however I think it’s not a type of bad exhaustion, it makes you feel immersed and as if you were in her place. It makes it hard to keep up when there’s shock after plot twist thrown at you but that’s how it’s intended to be. The way I had no idea what to expect throughout the entire movie while i was so immersed that I started feeling negative emotions due to everything going downhill felt so well executed and had me questioning reality after I was finished. I defenetly recommend watching the movie if you enjoy psychological horror!

I also called the ending months ago when I first heard the premise of the sequel. However, my screening in Sydney had a Q+A with Parker Finn where he said he thinks that the ending is the obvious and most natural conclusion to the story and assumes a lot of people predicted it too, but what he finds interesting is the journey we go on to get to that foredrawn conclusion.
