Great video! ❤ I focus more on hydration rather than moisturizing (there's a difference). All of my hair products come from the farmers market. Just simple cucumber 🥒 water for penetrating hydration and seal it in with grease/olive oil. Okra for the slip to detangle. Going natural means finding your routine to minimize labor and maximize healthy hair. After sooooo many products ($$) and countless setbacks, I found my solution at the grocery store. Just remember to enjoy your journey to what works for you! I'm a firm believer that natural hair requires natural solutions.

Love this simple routine ! ❤ What do you use to shampoo with?
@unbotheredmovement5 ай бұрын
@@CleverChronicle Unfortunately I don't get my shampoo from the farmers market. Most of the time I use clarifying neutralizing shampoo to strip and maintain ph levels monthly. However, sometimes I use a African Black soap bar with apple cider vinegar rinse. I co-wash with aloe vera (mid-month), it varies depending on my activities, the weather, my hormones etc.. Edit: Also avocado clay mask are great for conditioning. Just experiment in your kitchen and have fun with it! ❤️

Thanks for the info. It seems like those who shampoo once or twice a week most likely don't need as intense of a moisture routine. I shampoo twice a week and I don't have a problem with my hair retaining moisture. At first, I was a bit concerned about the frequency of shampooing. However, it has turned out to be the best thing for my hair and scalp. Of course, this may not work for everyone but it is another possible option.

@@CoilyDiaries Me too!💜 Although shampooing twice a week is for my scalp more than moisture training. I had never even heard the term moisture training before watching Kim's video years ago. I guess my mom moisture-trained our hair growing up since I've always shampooed once a week and (cover your ears, lol} never used raw oil/butter.😂😂

I think for naturals who washes their hair once a week or twice doesn’t necessarily needs a clarifying shampoo but naturals like myself who washes once a month or closer to two months needs clarifying shampoo to lift all that dirt and sweat and even hair products off the hair. I don’t use clarifying shampoo’s a lot because I do use clay and acv to clarify the hair and I use aloe Vera and rosemary on my scalp to keep my scalp clean. But I still make sure to keep clarifying shampoo’s on hands for when needed

Where I live, they actually switched the container to the same one as the intensive hydration hair masque (I accidentally picked up the leave-in milk instead of the deep conditioner once and had to go all the way back to the store to exchange them). There may be light at the end of the tunnel for you! Hopefully they change it everywhere else because I do remember the struggle of trying to squeeze that thick conditioner out of that bottle, especially with slippery hands 😂

Hello! Love love your information, just wanted to know what you think about grease? Castor oil retates my soalp thank you.
@CoilyDiaries9 ай бұрын
I think grease gets a bad rep because of where it comes from. Also it can make it tricky to remoisturise and hydrate with heat between washes but if you cleanse your hair regularly it could work. Could you not concentrate the castor oil on your hair instead of your scalp? Olive oil or argan oil might be good alternatives

If castor oil irritates your scalp then grease (something heavy or thick is not solution). Use light oils which is why she said olive oil or argan oil. Everyone’s fav is jojoba oil for being very light. If you find it’s not enough after couples uses then add a drop of tea tree or rosemary. My favorite tip is to stick with the aloe vera daily and weekly add scalp oil for with light oils first before adding anything thicker like castor oil and grease. Hope this helps 😊

Thank you for the info. How much do you dry your hair between the last wash and the humectant spritz, and the spritz and the leave in please? And later you say leave your hair out to dry after the ACV spritz you leave your hair loose, if i did that my hair would shrink to my scalp. I have high shrinkage. Wouldn’t that increase single strand knots?
@CoilyDiaries9 ай бұрын
After wash I dry with a T shirt or towel n go straight in with the humectant while the cuticle is open. After ACV I let it are dry loose abit before braiding it. It’s still dump but not wet if that makes sense. This reduces the drying time. If I braid it straight away it could take days to dry. Also when I say loose am assuming you have mini twists? If it’s loose hair, u can do loose chunky twists to aerate it

@mabeaute8963 Be careful of spreading unfounded information. And always apply wisdom and common sense. I have been using ACV on myself and daughter since going natural 5 years ago. I have not had worms or bacteria in my or daughter scalp/hair. Could it be that if at all those who reported such things were not properly taking care of their hair weekly? Think about it how possible that worm would grow in a scalp and survive if weekly cleansing and washing of hair is taking place?!?! Worms and bacteria only thrive in unhealthy kept environment.

I wouldn’t recommend mixing . The thing is, you don’t know the PH of the twisting butter so it could work if it’s about same as ACV otherwise spritz is a last step

In 3 hours and constant wind my hair dries, dry. It tangles of it's loose so that routine or advice isn't for me. My hair can dry while its combed with leave-in conditioner then oil. I don't use heat and I moisturize with water and then seal with oil. On day 7 most likely I'm washing my hair. If you put a lot of products or use grease on your scalp it should be washed weekly to avoid bacteria or fungus and blocking the pores on the scalp or buildup on strands.
@CoilyDiaries9 ай бұрын
when I say loose I means loose mini twists or loose twisted chunky twists. Also, stretch it just before completely dries. that way you don’t have to deal with shrinkage. love layering my products but I agree that the scalp needs to be clean and breath
@KarlaBedminister9 ай бұрын
@@CoilyDiaries Yes, that's what I try to do with my hair before it dries or else it's a fight with the shrunk coils and a struggle to uncoil the root and ends which are thick/dense. I've been using pure rose water for 2 months so it's softer but the strands are thick. When you say twists do you mean in 2 per section? My hair has to be in 3 in the root and 2 in the mid strand to ends so I can reach it to moisturize and seal. Otherwise, it will unloosen itself if it's not held with rubber bands, etc. and get dry quickly.

Regarding the harsh synthetic hair, I've recently come across the Spectra brand of hair, which is super soft, non-toxic, and non itchy. I would definitely recommend this if you're ever looking for a protective style with additional hair.
