The people are interested in music, and food and art not in war. Americans should reflect as to why they have all these military bases around the world and why they cant function without having a war somewhere
@mischevious2 ай бұрын
A good many of the American people are interested in war. Their jobs for “defense contractors” literally depend on constant war. The military pomp and circumstance with flyovers and Veterans at big league games gives them glee. Video games like Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege and Counter Strike give them something in common with their kids while at the same time training their/our kids in US military armaments before they even graduate grade school so they’re ready recruits! We are the most militarized society that ever was. At least I thought so until Oct 8th, seems there’s one other willing to give us a run for our money, and literally.

In the past the United States was not "isolationist." We were "noninterventionist" in accordance with how our federal republic was set up by the Founding Fathers. HUGE difference. "Isolationism" more accurately describes the path we are on right now as we continual to isolate ourselves into a corner, with more and more nations seeking to come out from under U.S. domination, dependence on the dollar, and our endless militarism. THAT'S what isolationism is. Noninterventionism, on the other hand, means, as Mr. Jefferson put it, "friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none."

Col. MacGregor has an a rather large blind spot about the make up of the 1780's American population. No mention of the slave or native populations. Of course the constitution being discussed here was never meant to apply to either of those populations. My question is did Col. MacGregor omit those populations because it weakened his argument that in the past our population was homogeneous. Or did they just not enter his mind because they don't fit in his concept of what America should be. Or perhaps it was an innocent oversight. We all tend to see the world through our own eyes. I appreciate Col. MacGregor analysis, he is in fact able to see the world through eyes other than his own, which makes his oversight disappointing.

### Title: **The Unchecked Genocide in Gaza: Israel’s Impunity, Hezbollah’s Retaliation, and the West’s Complicity** The ongoing genocide in Gaza, carried out by Israeli forces with shocking impunity, stands as a damning indictment of the inhumanity embedded in modern geopolitics. What makes this tragedy even more unbearable is the tacit approval and direct support that Israel receives from Western powers, enabling the systematic slaughter of innocent Palestinians, including women and children. The international community’s failure to hold Israel accountable not only perpetuates the suffering of Palestinians but also sets a dangerous precedent that emboldens further violations of international law. #### The Grim Reality of Gaza A recent, heart-wrenching example illustrates the brutal reality faced by Palestinians every day. A Palestinian father, overjoyed at the recent birth of his twin children, was on his way to obtain their birth certificates when an Israeli airstrike obliterated his home. In a matter of seconds, his wife, newborn twins, and mother were all killed. The strike was precise, targeting their specific apartment-a chilling reminder that the Israeli military knew exactly who they were killing. This heinous act of targeting 3-day-old twins and their mother will only serve to fuel the resistance, as Palestinians seek justice for their slaughtered loved ones. Israel’s calculated acts of violence are not isolated incidents but rather part of a broader strategy that has been ongoing for decades. #### Israel’s Defiance of UN Resolutions Israel’s actions in Gaza and the broader Palestinian territories are a blatant violation of numerous United Nations resolutions aimed at establishing peace and justice. UN Security Council Resolution 242, passed in 1967, called for Israel to withdraw from territories occupied during the Six-Day War, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem. Despite being a cornerstone for peace negotiations, Israel has consistently ignored its obligations under this resolution. This non-compliance set the stage for a series of further resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 338, which reiterated the call for peace based on Resolution 242, and more recently, UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemned Israeli settlements as a violation of international law and a major obstacle to peace. Rather than working towards a peaceful resolution, Israel has continued its relentless pursuit of land and power, using the Palestinians' desire for peace as leverage in an attempt to force them into negotiating away their land. With unwavering support from the United States, which has often used its veto power to shield Israel from international condemnation, the Zionist agenda has pushed the region closer to the brink of disaster. #### The Role of Hezbollah and Iran In response to Israel’s continued aggression, Hezbollah and Iran have been forced to take a stand. By putting Israel in a position where it must either comply with international law or face dire consequences, Hezbollah and Iran are sending a clear message: the status quo is no longer acceptable. The recent escalation in hostilities, fueled by Israel’s refusal to comply with international demands for a ceasefire and humanitarian access to Gaza, has brought the region to a critical juncture. If Israel persists in its reckless one-way direction, thumbing its nose at the UN and continuing its blatant atrocities, war crimes, and acts of genocide against the Palestinian people, the consequences will be dire. A miscalculation by attacking either Lebanese civilians or Iran will trigger an unprecedented retaliation, with a storm of unstoppable hypersonic missiles that could reach every corner of the Israeli state within 30 seconds or less. This time, there will be no three-day warning or slow, outdated munitions intended as a gesture; the response will be swift, decisive, and catastrophic. #### The West’s Complicity The Western media, far from holding Israel accountable, often minimizes or even obscures the reality of these atrocities. The hypocrisy of the West is staggering. Western nations, particularly the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, provide Israel with the military, diplomatic, and political support necessary to continue its genocidal campaign. These governments claim to champion human rights and democracy, yet they turn a blind eye to the suffering of Palestinians, offering Israel not just impunity but active collaboration in its crimes. The silence from the international community, particularly from Western powers, is deafening. It is time to call this what it is: genocide. The world must demand accountability, not just from Israel, but from all those who enable its crimes. The impunity must end, and the victims of Gaza’s ongoing tragedy must be given the justice they so desperately deserve. #### Conclusion: A Call for Global Justice The time for action is now. Israel must be held accountable for its actions, and the international community must step up to enforce UN resolutions and demand a lasting peace based on justice and respect for human rights. The world cannot afford to look away. The genocide being committed by Israel, with the full backing of the West, is a stain on humanity that will be remembered for generations to come. The blood of Gaza’s children cries out for justice, and it is our duty to answer that call.
