@@ViridianaD24 having worked on a TV set, I know there are many things that can go wrong. This type of show usually has three cameras, one each for individual shots, and one for the two-shot. Also, these days studio cameras are robotic, meaning there's no one standing behind it to manually pan, tilt and zoom. The camera focusing on Michelle may have gotten stuck or had the video go bad. Also, there could have been a problem in the control room where the couldn't switch to the next camera. Also, most of the late night talk shows actually tape earlier in the evening. It could be a case they forgot to edit the other shot in. Making a TV show is sometimes like making sausage. It's often better not to watch how it's made.

Michelle Obama has this incredibly relatable way of breaking down our individual and collective anxieties into ways of managing it and finding light to exit that trapping space. her husband is basically why i'm alive, because I was diagnosed with a severe pain condition and couldn't go back to work, couldn't get any kind of disability and lost my insurance. I had to enroll in college I was too sick to attend just to get health insurance coverage for a couple years before the ACA took effect because any insurance I could buy wouldn't pay for anything at all because of preexisting conditions. Not even pain meds. Luckily the ACA changed things before my pain condition worsened or I wouldn't be here at all. it wasn't just him but all the people who voted for it, wrote the laws, etc. But I genuinely don't think it would've happened without him. It's not perfect, but boy is it a lot better than the alternative.

We as a country seem to have lost our willingness to love our neighbor. Take a moment to consider what might that stranger's life really be like. Did they plan to be at this point in life? Every time someone says something bad about Chicago, think about people like Michelle. There are lots of smart and decent people here like Michelle that you don’t hear about in the media.
@KatieGray1
@KatieGray1 Жыл бұрын
Like anywhere, there's lots of stupid decent people too and they deserve to be recognized for being decent human beings regardless of intelligence. I actually think there's a party divide in intelligence where one party feels ignored by elites who went to colleges and discuss things they don't understand and it's harming the nation but particularly kids because it results in a party who wants to restrict what their children can learn in school so that they don't grow up and talk down to their parents. I think everyone should take responsibility for it, but especially those of higher IQ who expect to use the language we do and not have those who barely got through high school and many who didn't feel like they can't participate in conversation. I'm guilty of it myself, but I do have friends and family I will adjust language usage for so that we can communicate and they don't have to do the embarrassing thing of asking me what words mean. I don't think enough people make the effort to listen and communicate with others because it's easier to categorize someone as stupid and dismiss their thoughts. And conversely, it's easier to categorize someone as elite and dismiss their thoughts because no one wants to talk to someone that makes them feel stupid.

I've lived in Chicago my whole life, and we're simply getting picked on because we're a Democrat city with a gay, black female Mayor. Yes, we've had our issues with an increase in crime (like every other big city), but we remain a world class city with some of the best universities, culture, architecture and dining/nightlife in the world. On a per capita basis, we're not even in the top 20 in terms of overall crime. But...we became a right wing media punching bag starting in 2008 the second Obama was elected. I'll let you do the math on why it all began then.
