Nothing against Bobby Flay, but I kind of love how Stephen totally showed him up in this segment by proving he knew how to toss the nuts in the pan when Flay doubted he could, and then made him look like a total yokel for not knowing what Dickensian meant! Too funny!
@cynicalcenobia7 жыл бұрын
Lot of people here write how they find him (Colbert, not the Flay guy) attractive, & think this is why: he's super intelligent & well-read, unlike most late-night talk show hosts with their dumb games.

Wtf is wrong with oil? Are vegans against crushing seeds now as well?
@ErykaSoleil7 жыл бұрын
Oil-free food is not a vegan thing specifically, and it's not about cruelty. There have been a number of peer-reviewed studies in recent years looking at the health pros and cons of consuming various oils, and they have turned out to generally be pretty unhealthy for the human body. So if you've become vegan for your health, you'll want to drop the oils as well.

He said people ask "How do you stay in shape with so much food around"....might I suggest that you kinda sorta need a lot of food if you want to sustain the energy needed for an active life style and build muscle...it's what you eat that really counts...your body will tell you when you have had enough.
@seigeengine7 жыл бұрын
And build muscle? You do realize you only build muscle to a point, and then you stop, right?
@TheMrVengeance7 жыл бұрын
_"your body will tell you when you have had enough"_ No, it doesn't. That's exactly how you get people weighing 600lbs. If you eat a lot your stomach expands, so next time you need more to feel "full", and then more, and more.
@seigeengine7 жыл бұрын
+TheMrVengeance The stomach does not change size, no.
@TheMrVengeance7 жыл бұрын
If the stomach doesn't change size why is surgery required to decrease the size of the stomach from obese people?
@Elithrae7 жыл бұрын
*+TheMrVengeance* While you're absolutely right that stomachs do change in size and stretch if you overeat consistently, you don't need to do surgery on obese people to change their stomach size for the reason you think. Fasting actually will naturally bring the stomach size back down. Or even just eating less in general will, over time. The stomach naturally shrinks and grows depending on how much you put in it, basically. The reason we have surgery to shrink obese people's stomachs, is by doing so, they feel full with a LOT less food, so they eat a TON less and their body burns the fat they already have. Nutritional supplements & very small portions (sometimes just pureed) super foods are what they use to have enough nutrition to actually stay alive, because their stomachs are shrunk down far, FAR beyond the normal human stomach.
