Another stand out episode. I hope your client watches your channel and appreciates the time, effort and skill you’ve applied to their home. Although, an electrician by trade, I spent nearly 50 years within the construction industry with some of it in your area before retiring. Given what you started with I think this must be the straightest building in Nottingham, well done guys.

Man's got a new logo...Nice! The channel upgrade is great - remember when you were just filming on your phone?? 😬🙃 . Just a suggestion but I would reduce the length to about 15 mins because I don't think it is sustainable for you to have a life and do the editing for a 30 min vlog. I think people who who are not 'creators' do not realise just how time consuming it is to plan, film and edit video content. So maybe a shorter weekly and and 2 -3 'Shorts' each week?

why do you not use the correct concrete padstones staff blues are not a correct replacement for a proper concrete pad stone who ever taught you that is wrong and is another corner cutting exercise, here's a tip read the SE (Structural Engineers) Specification and I guarantee the drawings will show a concrete premade pad stone not a made up mickey mouse staff blue pad stone. and another tip fill the bed and perp joint in the brick work inside the cavity, you're obviously not putting enough mortar on the bed or perp joints.

Hi mate, great point and observation. As you can see from the text on the screen blues are more than suitable to do the job and if not...better. I've not once been pulled on my pad stones and every one of them for the last 8 years has been done this way. Something also to bare in mind. These steels are holding a few joists, and that's it. They are not load bearing. In fact drawing didn't even specify padstones for that reasoning. However cheers Tony appreciate your feedback ☺️ much respect, have a great week and hope your well

@@IzzytheBricky thanks for the reply, what does the SE scope call for Architects don't spec the structural stuff that's the job of the Structural Eng he's the one who specifies the block strength the mortar mix the size of the steels the size of the joists wall ties and spacings and if you haven't got that info then that's poor really poor, the client should have this and the building inspector should be reading what the SE has required ultimately that's what give the build its warrantee and completion cert from Building control. You don't use steels if there not load bearing if there taking joists there there to support the upper floor or roof structurally they are supporting a lot of weight the deflection would be notable if these were not in place, with the pad stones the concrete pad stones are the size of a block i.e. 215x440x100 and a-lot quicker to install than 3 course of Staff blues and probably cheaper.

Hi mate, perhaps try and learn from some experienced people. You could join a bricklaying gang as a labour and then learn that way ☺️
