In this part 1 video I'm out in the forest where I make some Viking jewelry, using the technic called cold Forging ..or Smithing.
Using copper and my new old anvil and other stuff I'v made.
In part 2 I have my food and coffee, and Cornelius is having something to eat that he never had before. Wonderful day, and I hope you will join us aging in our Viking Camp

The Viking tent frame holds the fabric firmly to shed wind and water. What SUNSHINE you had that day! In American English, we call that a 'ball-peen' hammer for the shape of its head. We say the surface has been 'peened' or 'dimpled'. I was amazed to see how much decorative value the simple repetitive peening brought to an uninteresting copper wire!

Absolutely enjoy your craft videos Tom! Watching how you manipulated that copper wire into useful items gave me all sorts of ideas of my own. Amazing experience! Although I am a jeweler and have been working on a completely different level for a long time, I was still delighted when I saw your tool kit and your work process. Once I myself made an attempt to take my small anvil into the wild forest like this and forge steel there. For this purpose, I also took with me some bricks or ceramic plates and a gas burner to build a forge. However, I have seen how other craftsmen in the field work use wet clay and coal for this. If you pump oxygen to the hearth with "bellows", you will be able to achieve the required temperature for forging steel. For this, it is desirable to have an assistant.

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag That was a mistake. You are making your subscribers and commenters feel as if their comments are a burden to you. For a channel that wants to grow, that's not a good thing. Many other huge channels respond to the first few comments on the same day as publishing, and that's it. Nobody expects you to reply to all your comments. There's a lot of goodwill amongst your subscribers. Don't piss on them for participating.

Hi Tom, amazing video as always. I love the adition of the raven on your chair! My daughter has made several fibula's in a dutch historical museum called "archeon". They have this as part of their roman era exhibition. And for a few years they have a small viking settlement that i always enjoy visiting.

Love this one Tom! What a cool set up with those tools and anvil. I have a copper bracelet that I bought from a tribe in Vietnam, they cut stripes into it for pattern. They recycled some kind of cables and the copper was inside the wire. Maybe electric cable? Anyway, I enjoyed this video.

Very cool! I forged a brooch very similar to that. In Scotland, they are called penannular brooches and are used to pin the great kilt together over your shoulder. I also made a little one to use as a pin. I hot forged mine from mild steel though. I like the copper. Copper hardens the more you work it. To soften it, just heat it up and then quench it in water. I look forward to your next video!
