I love my plunge. Great review. I think I’m broken though. After a month of ownership I spend 25 minutes plus at 41°.

I see. They need to set the temperature colder than 39 so the time can be shorter. Do you go In while the water circulates?
@sprtjnketoo
@sprtjnketoo Жыл бұрын
@@lennylink8772 The water always circulates. I think the chiller cost to cooling ratio would be a big jump in price to get the last fee desired degrees in temp drop. That’s my guess as to why it is what it is. These new is iso-tane refrigerants are not that good.

sounds ridiculously long for a human to withstand. 25 minutes at 41F is simply unheard of. Should I call bullshit? Are you saying you exit after 25 min and are not completely blue and near death?

@@BradPKearns Call bullshit if you want what would I gain from making it up. It is what it is and no I’m not blue or injured in any way. I normally do ten minutes every morning six days a week.

I’m 5’ 11”. Do I really need the XL? Will the standard allow me to fully submerge? Also, in FL climate next to salt water. Should I upgrade to the Pro and should I be concerned with it outdoors in the salty air?

I'm trying to decide between the standard and XL tub. I'm 6'0 and want to be able to sit comfortably with my neck mostly in the water and my entire body submerged. How tall are you? Thanks

Wim Hof uses a chest freezer. $450. Way less drag on your electric bill

Yep, I would love one but at $7k for the xl because I’m very tall, no thanks. Chest freezer will cost less than $1k.

Do you keep yours constantly running 24/7? Seems like chiller and pump would wear out if it’s running non stop.

Such good review, better than the seller as on shark tank etc. I currently take cold showers, the plunge is costly. I love the therapy, its motivation, inspiration and discipline. My primary goal is to make enough money to buy/build it.

Thank you for the review, I’m definitely sold on it. In your opinion, would the regular cold plunge be suitable for someone at 6’1”?
@ConnectTheWatts
@ConnectTheWatts 2 жыл бұрын
It would be pretty close since you are right on the line… I think it would be fine, but I’m ~5’9 so hard to say for sure.

I'm right at 6', and am pleased w the fitment. I do cross my legs @ the ankle, with my knees outward, to comfortably get my shoulders fully submerged, and the water level up on my neck. But if I had an extra inch of height, I wouldn't have any concern about the tub being too small for me.

I am around 5'9. The XL would probably be a lot more comfortable at your height but you can probably get away with using a regular by crossing your legs

5000 for a 1/4 chiller and tub? 🤣 Colder temps allow you shorten bath times. You can buy a 1 1/2 hp chiller for 1200

LOL I'll just spend like 12$ at 7-11 and get several pounds(like 20 or so lbs) of ice to put in my bathtub water that normally is just 60 Fahrenheit from cold knob only thanks!🤣😂💩👀😱
@richbunnell7426

I use my bathtub and throw in a bag of ice. At $2.00 per bag + 3 five minute ice baths per week (at 36 degrees) = $6.00 per week * 52 weeks = $156.00 per year. So, it would take me over five years to have this thing pay for itself. Nah, I'm good.
@ConnectTheWatts
@ConnectTheWatts Жыл бұрын
if you have the storage space for the ice... potentially. The cost here for 30lbs of ice (the amount needed for a ~40 degree ice bath) is $10... so $30 per week = $1,560 in ice per year... plus the additional hassle and cost of buying 90lbs of ice per week (and additional cost to store it). It's still cheaper for sure, but a lot more work. Then if you ever want to do daily cold baths, like both my wife and I do... that is definitely where the Plunge really becomes super valuable.
