The 39 was his favorite tractor. He absolutely loved when it started up and would get so excited. I had to put him down last spring--so thanks for the comment!

I am in awe with this tractor!!! I plan on getting myself a John Deere Model A someday. I asked my mom if i could save up to get an old tractor someday, and she said yes!!! I love old tractors. They're a work of art!!!

You've got yourself a nice looking tractor. I've got a 46' A myself and love it to death. I'll say yours is in great shape seeing the cover over the clutch drum (I've heard that's rare for As). I hope mine looks at least half as good as yours when I finish restoring it.

Beautiful tractor! I'm looking to pick up a classic Deere with a loader to plow snow and do other work around the house hopefully an early 50's A, B, or G.

Well even though I ain't seen my Late Grandpa on his JD A since 1968 (the year he passed), I sho' feel you'd be wastin' a big muscle G on the small stuff around there. Maybe with the A as well. Sounds like a Model B JD "Teenager Size" would be perfect for your tasks.

Well, looks like the alfalfa is all wilted down for the winter. I have fant memories of dad's A. He sold it in 1975 and bought a 70 diesel. Fortunately I still have it, and I want to get running again this winter.

@danw60145 жыл бұрын
@@billdutton2873 yes it sure is. It runs, but I had a bearing fail in the transmission. One of the last times my dad smiled before he died, I told him I want to restore it and drive it across the Mackinaw Bridge during the labor day weekend tractor drive. He thought that would be pretty neat. When we plowed a long furrow at night the tip of the muffler would glow red.

My God! In 4K, I could almost smell your whole nice cut field! About how long was the length of your super wide watering looking apparatus out there? You rode that JD A right up & under it!

Our model G had no muffler for a few years and we could hear when my Dad was using it while we were at school several miles away. Yep he sure got hard of hearing from being too cheap to get a new muffler for it, so he had to spend several times what a muffler would have cost on hearing aids later in life.
