And I bought the second one in January. The first one is since 2018. New edition is same quality and I like that model very much. I am pretty sure, all us have 1-2 GI TANTO blades! I was sure, you will be here too!

When your hands get sweaty or if you get Bigfoot blood on your hands them scales get slippery . The Shaghi Shadow and Shaghi Warrior are the same way , but it can be fixed . They are good knives , especially for the price . Good to see ya Scab .

Wonderful, simple knife. Just the way I like them. Not the same style, but I see it in the row of heavy use knifes, like the Cold Steel Bushman fixed blades. I like Tanto style blades the second best, directly behind clip points. It looks like this Tanto is made for heavy outdoors use, a real field knife. Looks like the blade stock is a bit thick behind the blade. If they gave it a higher grind, you could make it sharper, making it a better slasher and chopper. But you can't have a prybar type knife that also is a good slasher and chopper. Looks like kind of a compromise on this Tanto. You get a big knife, a decent chopper and slasher with the stability of a prybar for a reasonable price. This one is on my list, because everybody should have some simple, cheap but good knifes like the GI Tanto or lets say the Cold Steel Bushman. #22aday Stay safe everybody, and stay blessed. to dovetail off your point of it being a good beginner knife is that it's very low price point mixed with its ultra durability, meaning, a beginner may do all sorts of horrors with a knife that one ought not do with it, but this sucker will not break or get damaged (I think it's part of their dropped forge series, where everything is just one big chunk of steel), and if lost, stolen, or destroyed easily replaced. #22aday

@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors Well you are sure welcome lol. Yeah, great knife. Been seeing how some are modding it by cutting off that top part of the guard. Might do that to mine. Check out the Klein tools duct knife..unreal. I bought the Milwaukee version couple of years back but just bought the Klein knife on ebay. Talk about a budget combat knife!

Those have been running $20-25 for years. Hard to beat for the price. My wish is that they made the edge the full 7 inches of the blade instead of 6 inches of sharpened edge. I thought they were using SK-5 at some point for these.

@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors For a comparable range of knife, the Glock Field Knife with Root Saw will run about $30-35, cheaper if you find one without a saw, has a 1055 blade. I don't recall anyone calling either the GFK or the CSGIT a bad knife. Both are generally considered quite a good value for the cost.

Hi I know this old video, just watching a few videos on these knives. I wonder if cold steel has had a bad batch or change who makes them in China. Just brought one about month ago and snap the tip clean off just sticking it in a log I was sitting on. Brought the knife knowing all these reviews out there showing it as good cheap tough knife. See Chris from PM101 also broke the tip off one recently and that made me think maybe a bad batch or let's hope it's sign of Cold Steel under the new GSM ownership. Cheap knife most likely not worth the hassle of warranty so will grind a new tip ad see how it goes. Be curious if you have heard or any others have a possible drop in quality in Cold Steel or its just bad luck. Cheers

I honestly think this was an old one. Because I did everything that I normally do in any weak spots would have shown up but I really think this one was one of the older ones because I've seen a ton of these things break and I've seen guys sorely disappointed with them
