They sing about very strong topics. See also: "Cold War Kids- Golden Gate Jumper" I've heard them compared to the Killers, which I defended them against. But they do kind of have the same harmonizing melodies and group style. Just a bit stronger of ideals...

people get way too worked up about how bands go to big record companies or that they've changed their sound. If you just stop focusing on how the music is produced and just listen to it, you might actually find out you enjoy it. If you keep an open mind towards new or different music than you're used to, you'll probably find a lot more good songs to listen to.

This isnt' my favorite song of theirs either, but if you like the first album, you should listen to the second. They did a great job of keeping their original sound.
