Favorite little detail in this episode is Junior still putting a suit on for the sit down even though he is calling in

I also was initially confused about why Johnny decided to take the hit off Ralph, but I see it in a different way this time around (possibly because of something one of you said?). I think for Johnny it truthfully is all about his wife. He saw Ralphie as having harmed his wife with his disrespect, and saw clipping him as the way to do right by Ginny. But after he had his heart to heart with her, like you said, it sort of brought him back down to earth for a moment and I he realized that killing Ralph won’t do anything for Ginny, and that actually supporting and being there for her is what matters to him, more than going around fighting dudes to prove her honor.

Carmela would never have done that with Meadow around. She's not stupid.

This season money and financial arrangements are a running theme, mostly in how they're leveraged and used for ulterior purposes or as excuses for other issues. This episode has three examples of that: Johnny's first reason for hating Ralph is not the joke, but that they suspect he's stealing, Carmine wants to solve the beef through a money penalty, and then there's the whole mini-argument between Tony and Carmela, which is fascinating because Carmela's position is predicated on the potential scenario of Tony dying, but she doesn't realize how threatening and disempowering arguing from that position makes Tony feel, and Tony is resentful since, from his perspective, he's already fulfilling his part of the contract while blatantly ignoring all the emotional damage he's causing.

Not sure if anyone has said this yet but each season revolves around a different aspect of Tony’s character. Season 1- Tony as a Son (inherited empire, Livia an Junior) Season 2- Tony as a Brother (doing right by ex bosses brother Richie, Janice, best friend Puss) Season 3 - Tony as a Father (Collasal Fuckup of Jackie Jr, tensions with Meadow and Chrissie, ignoring AJ) Season 4-???

Um dos meus episódios favoritos. Notem como q em quase tds as cenas tem alguém comendo coisas não saudáveis e a única pessoa controlando o que está comendo é a Ginny

Interesting to think that Johnny started out as a minor character that Tony brought in to help settle the dispute between Junior and Hesh, and now he is the central focus of an episode.

I think you guys missed one of my favorite thowaway Sopranos lines. When Saskia was telling Meadow about the law center, the whole quote is "over half a dozen crack babies were reunited with their mothers, several of whom are now in recovery". Read that sentences again and let that sink in 🤣 Its an easy line to miss, but Sopranos likes to do that - you just turn your head for for a second and they slip one in on ya 😏

I'm sure the blind hitmen are a reference to Shakespeare or Greek mythology. Can't remember which story though. Maybe Macbeth.
