Terry hearn? Alan blair? Martin bowler? Matt Hayes? Oli Davis? Frank Warwick? Kevin nash? There's alot of good anglers out there who are very watchable too. Il always give them a watch and if I don't like the way they come across il be on to the next one. Watching only 1 person as good as Adam is ... surely that's gotta be boring

I've kept maggots up to 4 week by suffocating them. Squeeze all the air out, pop em in the freezer for 20 mins, and then put them in the bottom of the fridge. I was surprised how well they kept

I fish on a wild lake, a very challenging lake, it acts like a drug on you:)), huge in surface area, lake with many structures, a lot of shells that cut your fishing lines, crystal clear water, low density of carp, very difficult lake of fishing where the carp migrate from one place to another, a lake with a lot of raptor fish, I am still waiting to see carp fishing documentaries on wild lakes, thank you Mr. Pennings for the explanations

Fkn love this! Bailey's and condensed milk on the bank! Will defo be taking this tip with me at the weekend and have also been turned on to maggots recently. Reminds me when I first started fishing in the 80's when boilies weren't even a thing. Works really well when carp are looking for sweet tasting, more natural looking bait. A big lump of wrigglies on top of half a yellow or white pop-up is killer in the cold water. This combo with the sticky, boozy liquid really is a differentiator and that's what we are all looking for when we're fishing a busy lake. Great video Adam!

Caught my 1st winter carp using this technique thanks for the insight please keep the video coming loving the pva setup
@garybrough13093 жыл бұрын
Took inspiration from this and after a couple of winter blanks I caught, only one fish from a day session but a result. I went with a size 10 of my favourite hook pattern along with a 4" 12lb braided hook link and small pva sticks filled with the above ingredients. I think the advice of scaling down is probably what I needed to do as i think i had become complacent and slightly lazy. Just a tip that I found worked as this was the rig I caught on is once the loop of the hair is pulled through the bait and a bait stop added you can thread a short length of mono, I used mouth trap , through the loop. If you cut this to a point you can thread on maggots on either end and then heat blob the ends to stop the maggots from coming off, might not be the best tip but it means on the wrong rig it's an option for a quick set up. Just be aware that the more maggots added means the longer the mono needs to be, this could work for or against as it would become difficult to eject but also possibly difficult to suck in? Anyway I added 2 on either side which keeps the mono short and no bigger than the 10mm hook bait I used. Hope this helps

I remember in the 70s I would regularly walk down a path on a side-cut from the River Thames and would look into the water only ever seeing tons of small fish. One day I was amazed because someone had thrown a full roast dinner into the river and it had spread out a little bit. Potatoes, peas, etc. There was a swarm of massive fish of several species going nuts around it. I watched and they all started feeding at the same time, and the food rapidly disappeared and the fish dispersed.

We used to use a lot of maggots in the 80s in the start of the 80s we used up scaled match tactics for big carp caught loads.Started using zigs in 81 when they were obviously not called zigs my mates thought I was nuts because no one used them now seems everyone does and with maggots bagged up.
