Hey guys, I made a trip to the Kentucky Dam to chase some winter skipjack. Weather was cold, but we found a few, and had a great time. Thanks for watching. Cadence Fishing Gear: cadencefishing.com?aff=6

I'm so jealous of you right now. I won't make it down to Kentucky and barkley dam until next year around April or May. But it's good to see you out catching them.

I wish I could find a channel that covers hot States. I'm in Florida all I see is Kentucky, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee,skipjack fishing. Florida has them too. I guess they must be hard as shit to catch down here. I'm after big catfish just need the bait.

Is the water usually that low during winter? I went snagging there a bunch last spring / summer but that big concrete circle was well under water. Going to go again the 1st once snagging season opens up, hopefully the water will be down like that (although we’ve been getting rain the last few days and are expecting more next week).

Usually every winter it's low

Gotta quick question for ya, I’m a little south of St Louis Missouri. Mooneye or Golden eye are usually what I find for bait in the summer. Have you ever had any luck catching them during the winter months?
@RegularDudeFishing6 жыл бұрын
I have not, winter is difficult to find them, but I would say if you could find some warmer water around a spring or discharge that would be the place to start to try. Wish I could be more help bro.
@michaelws62476 жыл бұрын
Regular Dude Fishing no problem bro, I have a few locks n dams about an hour north of me. Before snagging season opens I’ll try again for skipjack. I know of 3 power plants along the river but since 9/11 you can’t even get within 100 yards of them. Since archery whitetail is over I got the fish fever bad 😁😁

Where can I order some skipjack from you
@chacebryan15596 жыл бұрын
Hey Jon, my question of the day.... is it legal in your area to raise Mooneye or skipjack? I don’t know if that’s even possible. I know current water fish need current to reproduce. Is that something you can do on your homestead with stock tanks or anything?
@RegularDudeFishing6 жыл бұрын
You can with proper licensing, but I am not sure how you would do it, you would almost need a private river....lol. I know I wouldn't have the space and means to have the tanks needed for that.
@chacebryan15596 жыл бұрын
Regular Dude Fishing I live in Kansas City and I had grass carp stocked into a farm pond to help cut down on overgrowth and one of the deals with that was that they wouldn’t reproduce because of no current. Regardless, still enjoy watching you get after them, take care brother.

You're destroying the Skip population. I tell you first hand there's been a huge decline in the last few years.
