They were normal. They were so human, like us. That's why their songs were about relatable stuff like unrequited love, inferiority complex or daily struggles. Then they've become big, their norms, I guess, have changed. They deliver happier messages (like A sky full of stars or something just like this). And now, they're trying to focus on more serious topics like religion or world peace in the latest album. Honestly, I love how they never stop transforming themselves. I love their songs from back then AND from recent albums.
@FOXYGAMER1224 жыл бұрын
they are so special, every album has its thing. jumping from this song to trouble in town makes you understand that they've evolved, they are not only humans thinking about relatable things, but humans thinking about bigger stuff, they can deliver a message, their opinion can be heard and questioned. they are amazing anyways, but the main topic in its songs, love, its not really present, because they want to focus more on nowadays and the lack of love in every place.

This was the Coldplay song where it all started for me. In fact, as a young boy, this may have been the song which influenced my interest in alternative/indie rock, the eerie, fantastic heart breaking vocals, the lyrics which cut straight through the heart. Still one of my favourite songs of all time. It was this song which carried me through adolescence, figuring out how to talk to girls I liked and being able to identify with the lyrics, high school, the break ups, falling in and out of love, the song became my life at one point. This was the first song where I felt like someone else got me, got my adolescent pain of just wanting to be loved and wanting to give love.

Ok here is my Shiver story. When I was in college, I used to have a huge crush on a guy who would play this band every time I got in his car. I had no idea who they were. He played this song for me. Then on the last day of the semester I was ready to ask him out, but just before I was going to ..... he asked me for advice about his crush from his math class. I never said anything about my feelings for him, but I told him to go for her and get what he wanted. I never saw him again, I like to imagine they are married with tons of kids. When Coldplay came out with XY, I was reading The DaVinci Code and listened to that album religiously, while working the Taco Bell drive thru. Life sure has its twists and turns.

I agree man their first 2 were amazing i believe untouchable when it comes to the 2000s and 2010s rock and the next 2 were great but i feel like they became to intertwined with the popularity of pop music which is crap. They just never got back to that form and i thought their was some sort of change when everyday life came out but listening to the recent album thats not the case.
