I know the points say otherwise but Gianni looked like the better grappler here

They did not disappoint! I was worried it was going to be boring like an old school Gi match! Thankfully it was full of attacks, takedowns, transitions, pressure passing, technical passing, and several submission attempts! Thankfully we avoided all that!

@kinggeo3165 what? Lol its just a power move by the ref. No body who is paying attention needs a band to decipher who is who here.

No one gives a flying f about your wrestling. It is a jiujitsu competition.

Absolutley boring match. Two black belts scrambling and acting like they're going to pass. How do you expect to pressure your opponent when you're "passing" from your knees the whole time?
@user-vc62 ай бұрын
He was leading in points, he didn’t need to enforce his game. He just needs to not run away or stall… grippo couldn’t do anything and refused to try wrestling so he lost.. this is the classic guard player no gi Loss . .. in gi he’d make those body connections 10x easier and get attacks going but no gi it’s insanely hard to get connections. Especially against a neutral opponent. YOU GOTTA WRESTLE or it’s way way harder

what makes you say that? he was lowkey the only person doing anything this match.
@user-vc62 ай бұрын
He played open guard no gi (choosing not to stand wrestle or risk a wrestle up shot from bottom) points down where the opponent is leading n doesn’t need to overly commit. he couldn’t make connections that’d actually let him get technique’s going ( the best connections he got was the Choi bar/kimura position. That could of won him the match but no gi it’s way harder to convert )… for no gi where the guard is getting weaker from a technical stand point ( we’re seeing less miyao in more stand up). he needs a much stronger wrestle up and stronger wrestling/Judo if he wants to compete with the newest top tiers… you need to be able to enforce you game on a neutral not trying but not running away opponent to win these matches
