I don’t know if it happened to you or not Cole, but you really got a good look at production work in a factory. It makes us appreciate those that build things for us to use and enjoy. It’s I think one of the toughest jobs. Production of any kind in a factory is tough even if your just standing there and just adding pieces it’s tough to to it day in and day out. I hope all of your viewers appreciate what Goodyear did here. Wow just great!

My dad worked for a cast iron foundry that was electric powered. I worked there a couple of summers and whenever the power cut out, the power company would call them to tell them when it was coming back on. I was there for one such event. They had to rig up a fork lift and series of chains to be able to dump the furnace manually since less than fifteen minutes after the power cut it was starting to solidify in the crucible. If it had gone fully solid, it would have been multiple weeks of downtime. If you ever get the chance, a tour of Caterpillar's plant in Lafayette, IN is another good place to see. 20 years ago, they were building an engine there that used a Chevy V8 as a starter and had a radiator that was around eight feet tall. The foundry dad worked for made the custom high-moly exhaust pipes for that engine. The center pipes were around 100lbs per cylinder, where the end ones were 140lbs :)
