Brundle in his prime was huge talent. Raced the shit out of Senna in the same car. I still think he is the best driver to never win an F1 race ( that includes Heidfeld, Bellof and Warwick) .. The fact young Michael really destroyed him still amazes me.
@zx10racer2229 күн бұрын
@@CharlieBeveridge The story of Brundle and young Michael is a very interesting one. Because Michael destroyed him initially - Martin admits that himself, in the first four races of the year, he was blown away by how fast Michael was and it got in his head. Then Martin had a reset and realised Michael was something really special, so he ignored what Michael was doing and consentrated on himself. Over the remaining 12 races, he actually scored more points that Michael in the championship.

It wasn't proven he caused the crash, so stop speculating senselessly. The footage they had ended a minute before the crash, so it's unknown whether he made a mistake or had a mechanical issue that brought him down. A witness said the helicopter dropped down like a stone, which points towards a mechanical failure of some sort. As for his license, he was flying regularly since 98, so that's completely irrelevant. He had a ton of experience flying the thing. His license has expired just some months before the crash, so it's not like he suddenly forgot how to fly because of that.

Most of the rally drivers use the slide to slow down the car and position it correctly to take the turn, they use less brakes because of that and control the car with the throttle and the amount of slide. "the best way through the corner is if you slide your car on the entrance, but don't slide on the exit" - this was said by a famous rally driver (not sure who it was) And you can notice even today that MotoGP drivers drive that way, but their slide is less obvious compared to rally driving
