Colin was a great driver. He never gave up. No matter what, he made sure that he and his car crosses that line, even if the car was split in half. That made him a true champion. Colin did not like DNFs, he would rather have the slowest time on the board than seeing those three letters up there by his name. He wasn't overly competitive, nor cocky of his winning. Colin loved to rally race. He will be truly missed

Massive crash in a rally car and still walks away. Massive crash in a helicopter and did not walk away. Rallying is safer than Helicopters. Stay away from Helicopters.

You know, when you hear of how Colin McRae died it’s the same as when you hear how Steve Irwin died and your answer is always the same, WTF? R.I.P. Colin and Johnny, as a kid growing up you were my hero rally driver, my love of fast but perfected driving was because of you and I thank you for that. I'm driving in DiRT Rally 2.0, and crashing a lot. When I drive into a tree or roll over, I first think "f*ck". But then I remember how often Colin crashed, and this motivates me to retry. I'm not proud of it, but if you drive on the limit, flat out is not the best option, but the fastest...maybe. Thank you, Colin. I'll always remember you.

He probably had more crashes rally driving in his life time, than i have had hot dinners 😂 but still one of the greatest in rallying, if not the best to do it. 👌 Just goes to show, there's only a handfull of people that can pass through the boredom barrier, & be so passionate about what they love, that they succeed, Whilst having the money to fund it etc.. Thats called dedication people. 😉 I'm the type of guy that is a jack of all trades & master of none, But thats fine.. i love my life the way it is. Am i any less human, no. My point being is, enjoy life to the fullest, & enjoy the things that you do, money is no object... but your life is! Flying a helicopter like a rally driver is not the same concept as being a professional pilot is unfortunately, 😢 'money talks'. Just like boxing atm 😂 Jokes aside, Practice what you preech & if you ever get bored or cocky.. move on to the next best thing, preferably something your good at, but just make sure you never get to cocky or complacent. Stay humble ✌️

Nah he flew helicopter the same way he drove a rally car. The difference being that with a helicopter you can usually crash only once, then it's all over.

fatal accident inquiry found the crash, near his family home in Lanark in 2007, happened because he carried out unnecessary low-level manoeuvres. No hero just stupid

I don't hate Loeb, but I think it was more and more a matter of cars and team, rather than the driver. And stupid rules like Superally really made it just worse.
