Great analysis, I'm sure the creator will appreciate your interpretation on the game! Jokes aside, the fact that sequel is centered around a person who's more representative of the general populace as compared to the prequel's special case is amazing, even though technically speaking, Colin was more 'special' than Johnny was. It's hard to make a sequel on a masterpiece and I'm glad Finding Paradise turned out the way it did.

Not a single dislike... That's how much To The Moon's community respects and loves you, Kan. Your work Kan... Thank you. You have no idea how much your games mean to me. I have never cried playing a video game, but damn... You did it 3 times... To the Moon hit me harder when I replayed it around the times my grandfather died. He died before I finished the game a xxxxth time. And once, when he was in hospital, I showed him the game. He told me he would never change a single thing if he had the opportunity. He liked the characters and the music. He even completed a level. He liked it a lot. His heart was old and tired but his brain functionned until the very end. Finding Paradise was just... wow. I loved it. And somehow I think it could be something my grandfather could have asked. Finding peace and a happy place. Thank you Kan ! I'm very eager to follow another adventure of Neil and Eva !

When i first played this game, I didn't actually get it the first time. But as time went on, i began to realize all the tiny ditails that add so much depth to the message you are trying to give with this masterpiece of a game. Before playing finding paradise, I felt a lot like colin, regreting every little thing that didn't happen the way I intended instead of treasuring all the amazing moments I've lived. After finishing it, I became a new man, I treasure friends and family, and the little moments sprinkled troughout the little percentage I've seen of my life, and I'm looking forward for more of those moments that make our memories so important and beautiful. Thank you Kan, love your work and hope to see much more of it in the future

I really love the contrast between the two story of To The Moon and Finding Paradise, they both deal with the ideas of regret but approach them in such different ways. Colin’s journey is about finding true peace and solace in the life he lived were as Johnny’s story is about finding a part of his life that was taken away from him. I really love your explanation and Finding Paradise is a story that felt as important to me a year ago as it does now. The idea of living a good and happy live yet still being racked by the guilt and worry of being unfulfilled is a something I think we all have to come to terms with. Your games truly are some of the most beautiful works of art I’ve ever experienced, To The Moon changed my appreciation of narrative and Finding Paradise made me realise the importance of appreciation what I have. Thank you for the amazing art Kan and good luck on all future pieces that you make.

I'm still Very much living by that motto "In our lives, we get stuck on things that feel so important at the time, only to look back on them at the end of our lives and realize just how silly they were." These games have brought me a kind of peace to my soul that nothing else has, and I can confidently say this has stayed true even after half a decade now. I will always love this series and its music, it's been a needed anchor to me. Find joy in the little things, enjoy the time we have with those we love, our time may be fleeting and short in a certain perspective, but we shouldn't let that end rule how we live on the way to it.

Kan Gao, this series has been and will always be so special to me, the subjectivity of whether Sigmund corp is good or bad within the narrative has always been an aspect I loved, of course there are arguments for both sides, the protesters have valid viewpoints but the doctors at Sigmund know their work has helped people. So seeing the negative impact of such a company was so interesting to me. The world you’ve created is fascinating and has so much flexibility in the subjects it can deal with and I just adore that. I’ve been following this series since I was 11 years old! And now I’m a senior in high school about to move on into adulthood, and I’ve always kept up with your work. I’m ecstatic for the To The Moon movie and comic, as well as your future works, no matter the genre, your work never ceases to amaze me. So thank you for creating such a wonderful and interesting world with characters that I love to death. (Also happy anniversary to FP!! Can’t believe it’s already been a year!!!)

@@blockofbutter9736 notice the word "my". it's just my preference. but really, I understand that most people will like "to the moon" because it's more relatable. I just think that playing "a bird story" and just relating to colin more in general makes the game better for me.
@KamiltheCamel

Little Grim, that is interesting, I found Finding Paradise like 1000x more relatable, but I still liked To the Moon more. I still loved Finding Paradise, but I think the fact that To the Moon was something separate from me makes me like it more. Along with that To the Moon had more of story to tell, while Finding Paradise has more of a lesson to tell. Like Colin's life is a normal average life, nothing too crazy happens, whereas in To the Moon, the whole beta blocker thing and river makes the story really just pop. I still endlessly think about that. Also I was younger when I played To the Moon, so I got some more nostalgia too probably.

It's been awhile since I played this game and I'm glad Mr. Kan Gao explained it further for us and to those who may have needed further explanation. For some of us, it hit even harder than To The Moon because it hit us in a more profound way that we couldn't explain (even KZbinrs like Felix seemed to have been caught unexpectedly at the deepest moments). Even more than explained, we really felt with Colin a deeper sense of loneliness and acceptance that made this along with TTM, ABS, minisodes, TML and all really stay with me in my thoughts of life. Thank you, Sir, more than words can express on how beautifully rich with emotions on your shared perspectives of life that you give to us. I love it all, the stories, humor, references and just all the thoughts and feelings you bring to all of us. I look forward to cherish any and every story you bring to us. Oh and the music... I can never stop listening to it especially during times of thinking deeply about life - thank you.

Good sir, you actually made my girlfriend (who is TERRIFIED of birds) care about a bird TWICE. You made me, who doesn't even cry at funerals very often, tear up and actually have difficulty reading my lines. You struck a chord in both of us that hit very, very close to home. So far we are absolutely in LOVE with your work and have played through every single bit of content you've posted on this incredible story on our stream. We are truly looking forward to the next game and where the story will take us next. I was literally right in the middle of saying "That was the point" when he took the words out of my mouth. Colin had a whole bunch of small regrets that COULD have the power to ruin how he feels about his life in retrospect IF he gives them the power to with his outlook. And on the other side of that coin, those regrets could just as easily fade into nothing against the backdrop of a wonderful life if that's how he chooses to direct his attention instead. Sure he could let the fact that his last landing wasn't exactly one for the highlight reel ruin his flight career, or he could see it as just another chapter in the dream job that he got to work for 40-50 years. He missed his son's birth, but he was there for all the wonderful moments as a family that they would have as Asher grew up. I really felt it in the way that Neil and Eva collected those small regrets like Pokemon cards through his life just how little they REALLY mattered, and that's the whole point because that means they can only take away your happiness if you let them. Ah this game was so freaking beautiful, I love it with all my heart.

If you asked me who was one of the finest story-tellers of the 21st century, I would say Kan Gao. That I am alive now to experience your stories first-hand is a gift. Thank you, Kan Gao.

I've never seen a game being designed in this meticulous way, not only the strength foundation of the story but also the important messages that KG is sharing. Not to mention about the humourous acts by Neil hahaha... Amazing, amazing game! Worth every penny out of my stash. Look fwd to Ep 3!

Man, there's no WAY it's already been a year since Finding Paradise. It feels like it only happened like a month ago. Thank you, Kan, for bringing us yet another pixel game masterpiece. I will eagerly wait another six or more years for whatever you have planned next.

To The Moon is the best game I've ever played, hands down. It surprised me, amused me, made me cry, all of this like no other game could. It was an experience I never thought I would have, but most importantly one that I never thought I would want. It was so wonderful that when FInding Paradise came out, I was afraid. You reached an high with To The Moon that I didn't think you could reach again. All of these doubts went away the second I started the game and got to Colin's wish. River and Johnny's story was complicated, full of twists in the form of memory erasing medicine, moon rabbits and inability to understand the person you love. Colin's story... Was normal. He lived a normal life, had normal friendships, a normal wife in a normal house. The least normal thing of his life was his job as pilot. And you made it interesting. The constant jumps, his suddenly disappearing friend, the lack of a concrete wish, a blank diary, all of it culminating in the moment where you're reminded that yes: this is the kid from A Bird Story, and all of that links to his life. Where To The Moon left me with a sour taste in my mouth, knowing that Johnny and River never did understand each other, Finding Paradise left me smiling while the tears flowed. That conversation with Faye, that final mirrored kiss... I thank you immensely for sharing these stories with us.
