We did some testing on a turbo-based gas-turbine rig in University: Long story short, it's a very inefficient way to build a gas turbine. That's great if you can use the waste heat for cooking food, but the thrust out of ours was genuinely pitiful. 'Course the Furze will probaly do a bang-up job on it, but he'll have to be very good if it's going to make more thrust than the electric one...

Suggestion from a race drone flyer: a shell over the LiPo battery, so the cable ties have no chance of cutting into it. The cells do NOT like to be bent/crushed and pose quite a fire hazard. Also don't discharge below 3.2V individual cell voltage, or you do lasting damage to it. Though i'm pretty sure you knew all that :D

That kid has his pa's enthusiasm to ride crayz things, that's just adorable. Pretty neat desgin for Kid's version, maybe a wire mesh to block out turbines just in case. On adult version however i wonder what'll you come up with to not burn your leg, g'luck!
