Colon is nothing but large intestine colitis is inflammation of the colon. Inflammation of the colon can be caused by either some sort of infections or it can be some sort of autoimmune diseases wherein our own system will be destroying our own immune system will be destroying our own intestines so they are called ulcerative colitis, crohn's disease they are all part of the colitis. So there is no specific diet for colitis, either to as a treatment or to prevent it. But in general if there are a lot of spicy food can cause irritation and cause problems for the colon so it can increase the number of motions and so avoid very spicy food and all that and then when there is a loss of fluid from the body because of diarrhea. You have to have plenty of oral fluids in general a person should observe if what sort of diet and what part of the our diet causes symptoms for that particular person and he can avoid it or reduce it. That's a better method than having a list of dietary things which should be taken or should not be taken.

Last six months frequently had diarrhea with blood , in that period tested and results was hpilory, took tablets not reduced continued the problem, now did the endoscopy and colonoscopy and the results was ulcers with 3mm dia of grade 2 mild, now taking tablets and diarrhea and blood now gone , doctor says continue tablets for 3 months with diet,iam taking mesacol 300 3 times and Sompraz 40 2 times,any suggestions can give for my story.Thanks.

Go for fruit juice vegies fish,country eggs,chicken,turkey... Get a probiotic and prebiotic supplement and a digestive enzyme..

Milk and milk products are poison for colitis patient, ghee and curd are usually tolerable, check planet ayurveda, they cured my friend colitis in 1 year. In allopathy theres no cure, you will only end up developing other problems with medicine side affects
