Omg I just try the first step which my cat really confused to do few days a go. She didn’t even wanted to be close to it earlier but after I use food she start getting in her self. Omg she is soo clever and I have a hope now. Thank you soo much ❤

Here in England most pet cats are allowed to roam free outside (if they feel like it). It's interesting to hear someone saying that's not their recommendation. It would be regarded as odd to try to keep your cat inside all the time. Thanks for the video.

Oh we have cats roaming everywhere all the time, street cats are everywhere. It's just that you don't want your pet to get hurt or stolen, and with no identification you're completely at a loss

In England there is also a huge problem with cats killing wildlife. Species have literally gone extinct due to cats killing them.

My cat has been wearing a coller ever since we moved and my dad caught someone trying to take him, my cat wonders all around our neighborhood should I put a tracker on him? He always comes back in the morning but should I get one just in case?

Yes. A tracking device will help you see where your cat goes and recover them if they get lost.

Weird situation i'm in right now... a female cat(dunno if its feral or a stray) got comfy enough in my house to give birth in my closet. Fast forwards to now, i am trying to put this collar on her but she keeps going after the treats , she does put her head through but once she is fed she either walks away or keeps searching for more treats on my hand.

Hello! Thank you for the video. I have indoor and outdoor cats and as you mention, microchips do nothing to prevent sth happening to them. I have the same collar that you showed, a "rogz" one among others, but what I find tricky with the collars is a) the fact that the cats get itchy after a while, and once they realize there is sth around their neck they get crazy. This undoes any progress to their collar training to the point that there is no use in starting over. And b) when I adjust the collar to their neck, the material creates a bulky part, which bothers them the most and I think that no distraction can make them forget that they have a sth on. If you have any suggestions they will be very appreciated and I want to let you know that your videos have improved my relationship with my cats and they actually let me know when they want a treat, even when I don't have any in my hands!

Do you take the collar off them overnight? Giving them a break from the collar when you know they are safe indoors is recommended. I try to think of it like us wearing a hat - it can feel annoying to wear one for many hours. But after having a break from wearing the hat overnight, you can probably wear it the next day without an issue.

@@CatSchool They have never tolerated it for more than a few minutes, unfortunately, despite the fact that I am taking it slowly with them putting it on.

@@chrisadimitriadou Here are a few approaches: 1. It sounds like your distractions aren't high enough value. Using a lickable treat, I would expect to be able to keep a cat busy/focused for at least 10 minutes before removing the collar. If that's not working, I would need to know more about their motivations. 2. Place the collar on your cat when tired/sleepy, so they barely notice and gradually build time that way. 3. Find a thinner (less bulky) collar to start. For more troubleshooting, please consider joining our online platform and posting for help there.

We are now letting Rudy outside for longer periods with a harness (with id tag). He accepts the harness cuz he knows that will let him outside. Reward training was minimal but your videos have played an important role in him having a happy life. He is not as motivated by treat as Jones. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. We live in high cat population neighborhood.

I wouldn't make a slip loop. I'd be too scared of a panic happening and then getting tangled and choked

@@GaasubaMeskhenet Our collar was too short for practice, but for anyone worried about their cat panicking, you can also hold the loop closed with your hand and never clasp it. I also use the handle of the leash.
