I don't currently own a Model 3, but I do plan on buying one later this year. In the process of trying to decide which one I want to buy, I rented a Tesla Model 3 Long range from 2023 on Turo and a Model Y Long range from 2023 as well. They were both amazing, and then I heard news that this new refreshed model was out and wanted to do a test drive of it. So I booked my test drive, and the difference from both the 2023 Model 3 and Model Y is VERY noticeable. The ride comfort is greatly improved, and the noise insulation is also much quieter, especially on the highway. All the other extra added features and styling is just a welcome bonus at this point. Anyone who says this refresh is barely different from the outgoing models, must be very privileged to drive much nicer cars regularly. All in all, I agree with your opinion entirely.

@@derekwhite5090 To me personally, range is a big deal when it comes to EVs, as well as efficiency. It means that even in a worst case scenario, you can still expect a decent amount of range out of the car. And it also adds a bit more value for the price you are paying. It is the same as if in a gas or diesel car, where a manufacturer may raise the horsepower on a vehicle, while maintaining the same amount of MPG. Or vice versa, if they keep the same amount of horsepower but increase its efficiency and raise MPG. Think of this as an EV keeping the same amount of horsepower and torque, while raising “MPG” or rather efficiency and range.

When you turn up do they point you to an open car so that you can check it out before accepting delivery and T&Cs? At home I will try and keep within 20 to 80% but realise that longer journeys are probably going to be different. As yours is the LR with a recommendation to "normally" charge to 80/85%, as you start to use on a regular basis I would be interested in your thoughts on this rather than the 100% of the SR LFP. Also going down below 20%.on a regular or just occasional basis.

Yes, you can take a look at the car before accepting delivery, and it’s highly recommended that you do to spot anything you would like to be addressed. As far as charging, it is recommended to keep it between 20% and 80% and to slow charge as much as possible. There is a great and very recent video uploaded by Engineering Explained that actually goes into great detail about charging and battery health.

Are the headlights much better?, do the wipers work properly on auto ? Can you turn main beam on before the auto lights do after passing an oncoming vehicle , you used to be able to have the main beam manual only, that was taken away and where I drive in the countryside with no streetlights the 3 to 5 seconds waiting for the headlights to come on again is frankly dangerous. Does it have v2l and if not why not! Does it handle properly ? Is the ride acceptable.

13:30 I wouldn't set the rerouting threshold to 5mins...

My M3 Highland arrives on 5th February. Tesla gave me a reg number a while back but the insurance companies still don’t recognise it so at the moment I can’t setup my insurance. Any advice?

Very nice, I'd love one of those, but I guess I'll be sticking to my Ampera, since it's way out of my price range 😢

Well wear Richard, is the blue colour as bad as the red for paint touch ups & have you seen much corrosion /rust on M3/Ys that are >5yrs old?

Looks lovely! Interested to know if they have a power trunk as standard now?!

Nope

I wonder if they've fixed the parking sensors yet?

What's to fix, there are none?🤣 Joking asside, the High Fidelity Park Assist is pretty good on the new Model 3. The only thing it would need is a front bumper camera and it would be perfect.

Do you set climate to auto or adjust as required yourself?

It looks like the Knight Rider car in black to me👍

Does the glass still rattle in the front door when the window is down and you close it?
@powersurge687811 ай бұрын
Nope. It actually rolls the window up when opening the door just a tiny bit and then stays like that until you close it and then goes back down. You will see it in one of the next videos👍

Looks fantastic is the fabric on the door different to that in the rear wheel drive sure it's grey like the dash in the rwd ?
@powersurge687811 ай бұрын
On LR it's alcantara and it goes along under the ambient light bar on the dashboard as well. On RWD it's a cloth material but still nice
