Good video! I picked up my bike last week and I agree with you on the suspension and throttle. I can confirm that the ride is firm and so is the seat but the handling is really good. The ride may become more compliant with time. As for the throttle, its perfect for me. Its not as jerky as some ride by wire throttles I've dealt with. The throttle allows for easy application in slow speed environments and has a nice roll on. I have fitted the triumph round bar ends for this bike and they work really well. They match the design of the round dash and headlight. I noticed that on the back of the mirrors, the housing has a ribbed surface. This ribbing at is also present on another rounded surface, the shock towers. This bike is very nicely designed and assembled. I'm still 'running in' my bike and I find it light, nimble, fast enough and easy to ride. This is without doubt the best motorcycling purchase I've ever made.

Beautiful bike and I'm so glad the reviews are mostly positive. Ordered my Trident at launch in silver ice / red... would have gone with the matte black but I was concerned over scuffs on the matte finish. Unfortunately it still being winter and being in Canada, I have to wait a few more weeks before delivery.

I rode the trident the other day, rear suspension was a little choppy on certain roads surfaces, and the throttle response was so smooth and easy to use I couldn’t see an issue. Overall I found it to be pretty spot on in this price bracket. It’s a proper motorbike for riders all ages and temperament, if you get me, I appreciate it has the A2 license facility however it is so much more than a novice bike.... I really liked it... good update review Bob. Cheers.

I was loaned a Trident as a curtesy Bike when my Street Triple went in for a major service. I agree with you about the handling, It felt so nimble on twisty roads, light and sure footed. Suspension! just having preload is a real 'bummer' nowadays..I own the R version of the Striple which of course has pre-load plus damping adjustment. manufactures can, I'm sure make provision without increasing the price to much.We humans are so diverse in weight, suspension adjustment should be the norm. Overall I thought this bike was pretty good, would be a good choice for a new rider to step up to....But the 'turd in the water pipe' for me was that awful swinging reg plate contraption over the rear wheel...Apart from that, nice bike

I am guessing this bike is all about the corner ! Have a blast with it .. Less hp and using more of tha engine pulling the bike out of the corners just sounds like a blast to me .. Over and over again, they bringing smiles to the open country road ..

True, we don't need 120 hp to have fun. I also don't need horrid copycat styling, 4 feet of clearance between the top of the rear tire and the bottom of the rear fender, a passenger perch with 8 feet of ground clearance, and as Mr. Perry mentioned "that awful swinging reg plate contraption:". A great engine and rolling chassis mated to putrid styling. I already have one of those - a second gen SV650.

Fabulous video MB - not like the normal reviewers (one in particular YT'er who wobbles the handlebars and states the bike is 'flickable') you've covered all the angles in your usual style. Straightforward, thorough, engaging and informative. I've had a T120 since 2017 which I've modded to exactly where I want it and commute on it daily all year. Looking for a second bike for the winter commute and was tempted by the Tiger but now I've seen this ..... ?? Sincere thanks for making this and looking forward to future Trident vids.

I'll take my Trident tomorrow. I took only the passenger handlebar ( I use the bike daily to bring my sons to school) and TPMS system because I think it is a good safety feature in discovering flat tyres. I really can't find a point in quick shifter and Bluetooth module. I never used a quick shifter equipped bike so I could be wrong but it seems to me quite useless in this type of bike where you don't search for a last second brake before a curve or shift gear in milliseconds. Talking about the Bluetooth module I think it could be quite distracting and offer nothing more of what you can do with an intercom. What you think about it?

The Street Triple A2 would be a very interesting comparison. I really can't see Triumph selling many more Street Triple A2s now this is out. I reckon that will be dropped from the range in the next year or so. The extra £1k is just too much . It''d be unfair to compare it to a Street Triple RS on outright performance, but lower , should I say "legal" speed riding, that riders are more likely to do 90% of the time, that'd be a valid comparison. So how it gets to say 70 MPH. I don't guess there will be a lot in it.

Being a little older than you, peg position matters. How do the hip and knee positions compare to an MT07, more or less cramped?
@motobob
@motobob 3 жыл бұрын
Pretty similar, and TEC bike parts mate some adjustable pegs so you can drop them a bit further if needs be

I think SW Motech will figure out soon how to mount their SLC carrier onto this model.. The Legend Gear panniers are super cool especially on the Triumph classics
@motobob
@motobob 3 жыл бұрын
@@aunoates6617 there's nothing to support them though, so they'd be swinging around. and the tail is short so there's not much for them to grip onto. that said there are some accessory pillion rails so presumably there will be somewhere to mount some saddlebag supports if somebody fancies making them

As Vilmos pointed out, the Germans will have a working solution, they did Monster's & Beemer S1000R baggage stuff, so the ideas are there for the application.....

Not sure if you still check the messages on older videos. I have a Trident, and potentially can exchange it straight across for a 2017 Street Twin. Even though these are very different bikes, do you find after owning both that you tend to favor riding one over the other?

Great Job covering all the basics! Although I do have a question for you as well since i'm considering getting this bike. What I wanted to ask you is how does this bike fare when it comes to its sizing. As in does it give kinda like the semi-big bike feel/look like the CB 650 or is it more compact than the CB? Thanks!! P.S. I prefer more compact/nimble bikes in general and can't get to see one in person as of yet to check it out:/
@motobob
@motobob 3 жыл бұрын
It’s not as small as it looks. I’d say it’s a medium sized bike. Similar to the CB although a touch more nimble

Nice informative vid. What i don’t get is why is the usb charger under the seat? Doesn’t make sense to me... When I use my phone as satnav on my bike, I can charge it at the same time up front...
@motobob
@motobob 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the Tiger 900 is better as it has a box to stash your phone in whilst connected to the dash for nav etc. but with this I guess you'd run a cable under the tank up to the bars? I mainly got it because it can be useful if you're out filming and a camera or something dies.

I always have to mute your music. I don't like the helmet, either. Making my mind up on the bike. I wonder whether Hepco & Becket will make the C-Bow system for the 660. If so, the 22-litre Orbit hard cases would look good and be practical as they don't stick out far. I wonder if there's enough room for my tail pack. It would make a good bike for Thailand, I think. I wouldn't void your warranty. Not on a Triumph. Good video.

Is there enough of a sub frame to fit a Givi 56 litre top box with rack mount as I have on my CB500F at present. I've had a lot of large capacity bikes but I don't do any long distance rides anymore. Day trips and around town as a bike is better in peak hour and for parking. Plenty of power for my current needs. I've fitted a small after market bikini fairing for wind protection on freeway, wouldn't be without it. Lastly I have to wear glasses so I need a full-face with a swing up chin/visor section. I'm currently using an AGV carbon fibre helmet - expensive.
