that is how you check a mk1 focus on a car viewing, if the seller won't let you... walk away!

Also check behind the liners under the rear arches as they hold the water and can cause rust to start behind them also the pipe on the rear washer can come off under the headlining 👍

That looks very clean underneath check behind those carpet liners £400 is good as u can get 300 for a scrapper so 12mths motoring fir free if u got rid in a yr

Scrap prices near me are £350 for MK1's now, this is a bargain for £400 just goes to show there are steals out there, my question at this time now... should they be this cheap now?!

@@usuallyfixingtinkering most are nearing the end of their lives due to rust issues and just about clinging to a mot certificate each year dosent take much wrong come mot time for a mk1 focus to be scrapped at mot time if u can't do the work yourself

The cylinder head temperature sensor which controlls the temperature gauge and operation of the glow plugs is on the left hand side of the engine just above above the gearbox (not to be confused with the oil pressure switch which is on the same area but higher up on the engine), its also quite fiddly to get to.

Thermostat will be opening too soon and it will go down on deceleration and the heater will go cool,usual diesel thing!

On live stream I did sent where temp sensor is. Did he found it? Also I noticing a bit similarities between tddi and tdci, but oil really looks black

Honestly engines are not really my forte. I don’t have a clue where the temperature sensor is, in fact I’ve never even had that engine cover off mine, sorry. I do however have a spare door handle you can pass in to nick if he’s not already found one.

How are the focus mk1 brakes?, is it safe?

Depends on maintenance. Works perfectly fine on my '02 Ghia. New discs, new pairs of brake pads, new rear hard brakelines, new brake fluid. No complaint, at all, I love it. DIY job.

It does depend on what's been done at this age, usually expect a new handbrake cable to be needed plus discs, pads, wheel cylinders and rear brake pipes in copper/nickel over the tank where they rot.
