As far as the Matt Rife thing is concerned, Zach hit the nail on the head. Eddie Murphy, Richard Prior, etc… they’ve all done DV jokes. I think someone said that comedy is about “getting away with it.” It’s not funny unless you can have your audience laugh about it. It’s about phrasing. Matt targeted someone personally. It wasn’t a generally statement that everyone could relate to, nor was it toned down. He targeted someone specifically. Imagine that specific waitress watching it and being so ashamed. She was called out randomly for a joke just because she showed up for a job she needs. That’s horrific.
@cristinap9298 Жыл бұрын
And generally, you can get away with it when part of the joke is everyone being aware that what was said was awful and wrong and shouldn't be joked about, yet the situation had a twist that was so funny that we're now all laughing about it and the ridiculousness of it. So he kind of forgot about the second part. If standup comedy were easy a lot more people would do it.

You're 1000% wrong. You have no idea how stand up works. There's a 50-50 chance that never actually happened or its a massive embellishment. And if it DID happen, you're assuming its DV and not just the joke AND you're assuming the person wouldn't find it funny because you're putting your own "if it was me" into it. It wasn't you. Also, before you morally grand stand why don't you go watch an Eddie Murphy special and see how homophobic and transphobic it is by today's standards. Same with Pryor.

Actually in my case Pearl is right: my mom doesn’t want me to succeed. That’s how narcissistic mothers are. And that’s how people like Pearl are created. If that seems unbelievable then you’re really lucky. My mom has been my biggest bully my entire life. It’s a miracle I didn’t end up like Pearl. Just got addicted to heroin instead, lol.
@Youokhun Жыл бұрын
The problem is pearl is putting it out there like it’s a problem with mothers, it’s a human problem. Society just likes to shame mothers for everything, it’s misogynistic. When people become parents themselves they realise how hard they were on their own mothers, because parents are just normal humans. Narcissism is also a really low % of the population so now we have people self diagnosing everyone

Yes, you are right; there is truth to Pearl's statement. A lot of mothers and daughters have strenuous relationships. But it's the fact she says ALL mothers, or in other cases ALL woman, is what makes it pretty misogynistic. Pearl rarely has some good points, and I wish she would spend more time talking about her personal experiences which might actually relate and help other woman. Instead of using her personal bias and applying it to all woman.

I'm so so sorry you're going through this at all but especially so close to the holiday season, that is horrific. Desperately hoping he's found safe ❤ addiction is a terrible disease that manifests in so many forms, sometimes in very sneaky ways. It's not surprising that you didn't know, some folks struggling with addiction will go above and beyond what anyone would think they're capable of in order to hide it from loved ones. Like some forms of depression and s*icide plans - if someone doesn't want their family to know, they will move mountains to ensure that family does not know until it's too late.

The Matt Rife thing was definitely an attempt at garnering a male audience, in the most pandering, hacky (as Ethan said) way imaginable. To comment on the sad subject of grieving and losing those closest to us.. My mom passed away June 27th, 2022, and aside from my kids and fiancé, the pod has truly helped me beyond belief. Three or more times a week, I get to take my mind off of the grief of not having my momma here. I get to laugh, smile and it is so therapeutic. From the bottom of my heart, thank-you to the entire H3 crew/multiverse. ✌🏼❤

Me, smiling bigger than I have in a month out of sheer joy at the spontaneous potato brag throw down blooming into an all out cast competition. “THIS. THIS. THIS IS WHY I’M WATCHING.”

Kinda cringe and outplayed for me at this point. That being said, best remix of it thus far. And Sam looks fire in those glasses👀

I just wanna know why KZbin is so heavily pushing Colleen’s videos to me. I’ve never watched her or been subscribed, even before the controversy, but all of her vlogs are getting recommended to me like crazy lol KZbin reeeeallllyyyy likes it’s most problematic creators (SSSniperwolf too)
@cornbredx Жыл бұрын
It could be because of this podcast. Ever since I started actually watching H3 a few years ago everybody they talk about gets recommended to me regularly. I guess the algo picks that up somehow, too. Maybe video titles or something.
@HeyItsZee_ Жыл бұрын
She's pathetic. I was subscribed to her until this year when I learned about everything. She will never get punished and she will never get anything unless someone pursuits legal action, like Trisha because what she did to Trisha was literally illegal.
@gothicxromantic Жыл бұрын
@@cornbredx definitely possible, but for some reason I don’t get other people they heavily talk about like James Charles or David or anyone

There's literally no way Ethan predicted a ceasefire LMAO that's insane
@HexFent Жыл бұрын
He didn't. A guy just demanded he call for ceasefire publicly and he did as a joke. Besides odds of a ceasefire given the resounding condemnation of the bombings isn't low
@weedlechu Жыл бұрын
@@HexFent I’m not seriously insinuating what he said had anything to do with it man he was 100% joking. I just thought it was a funny coincidence that’s all.

I was not expecting the intro. It’s 6 am I’m up cuz I’m helping my bf make the turkey for his family’s thanksgiving. I need background noise to wake me up as I get ready to go, and I look down and see all of them just.. having a rave 😭😭 so unexpected, so hilarious
