I've worked as a nurse in a facility with individuals deemed too "mentally incompetent" to be in society because they had varying mental disorders and committed crimes or didn't have loved ones to watch out for them. Many of the adults I worked with had child predatory charges or attempted murder charges. I would hear the therapist come in and basically give these adults excuses. "It was your moms fault, she should've watched you better." Meanwhile these same people are turning to me afterwards and saying: "It wasn't my moms fault. I would've found a way." Sure, some of these adults absolutely didn't know any better, but they weren't going around saying "i know what I did/want to do is bad." People are using Trents learning disability.. delay.. whatever its going to be next week, is an excuse. Colleen has talked a lot about being unpopular when she went to actual school, and her parents sheltered her growing up. I think to some degree she wanted to live out her cool, raunchy, mean teen girl fantasy and mentally regressed to that place. Not an excuse obviously, we’re just all curious why someone would act this way- it truly is bizarre.

I agree with you, I think Colleen is really immature and has a lot of unresolved issues from her childhood. But so does a lot of people and they deal with it in ways that doesn't involve committing crimes. I just hope other people look at this and learn from it. I think a lot of influencers have problematic dynamics with their fans, and hopefully this story makes more of them take a step back and look at how they interact with fans.

100%. I grew up watching colleen, and she's just never learned or cared about having boundaries on the internet because her personal life has always been so intimately interconnected with her professional life. Being a fellow millennial, KZbin was SO different back when it first took off. Growing up in a Christian centered, sheltered environment definitely contributed to her not understanding proper boundaries too, and she's always had a more immature personality in my opinion. As a grown ass woman with kids of her own now, she needs to take accountability for all of the shit she did in the past. I hope she does the right thing.
