You read my mind. People might complain about the colleen drama, but tbh I don’t see how it isn’t different than a reality tv show. Instead of getting one directors cut you get many. I also think it highlights some important new questions in society. How adult internet celebrities interact with their fans. The intersection between irl & internet relationships. Yes there are a lot of bigger problems in the world. Yes this is just internet drama. I still think it touches on important issues that we as a society have never really talked about before. And yes, I’m probably looking into it to much.

What Olivia might have been trying to say is that Colleen telling a completely fabricated story to someone in private, with every intention they share it and spread her rumors around is EXACTLY what Colleen also did with the Weenies group chat. Colleen was already affair hunting a few months after getting married, it’s not a far stretch to think she was planning a public exit. Claiming Josh was aggressive could’ve been an exit strategy and texting Shane Dawson feels so calculated.
@katetempleton9669 Жыл бұрын
She started telling that Josh was abusive at least during their honeymoon. I don’t know whether she was planning something back then or not. 2:14:23 Speaking as someone who did escape an abusive spouse, seeing Colleen tease/embarrass Josh floored me. When you're living with an abusive partner so much of your day-to-day is just walking on eggshells to avoid 'setting them off'. I cannot imagine that a victim who'd just experienced horrendous, dangerous abuse the night before would be intentionally poking the bear within 24 hours. Also if the room was trashed, wouldn't there be evidence of that? The room is completely intact. The vibe I get here is the exact opposite: Colleen seems to be going out of her way to belittle him in small ways (the yawning, interrupting him talking about a really beautiful moment to correct his pronunciation, etc.) and he seems to be taking it with very defeated acceptance.
@DyslecticAttack Жыл бұрын
Not just that, but the vibe I get from Josh is that he really wants to have that moment without cameras where he can resay his vows to her. The vibe I get from Colleen is that she thinks it's a neat idea, but that it's not serious at all. Or in other words, that she wants to have done it, but that it's not something she takes serious or even really looks forward to do. At least, that's the vibe I get from his annoyed looks when she's belittling him, yawning, and interrupting. He's taking it very serious, she thinks it ridiculous to take it that seriously. As for the room, we barely see any of it (mainly just an entryway wall), and we don't know when it would have been trashed. So this video isn't really evidence of it not being trashed.

Yall need to treat over the counter meds as serious as prescribed medication. Like fr. Too much Tylenol can cause liver issues like you'll turn yellow. People need to take it seriously. You can accidentally cause alot of damage by misusing over the counter meds. Back in the day inhalers used to be over the counter. One person died from misusing it and they took inhalers away from everyone because one person. Which is annoying and stupid. For me I usually take half the recommended dosage because you really don't need the full dosage. And if you need more later you can safely take more. I do that with Aleve and Tylenol etc.
@marinasaurus Жыл бұрын

@jaggirl Жыл бұрын
@FukaiKokoro You shouldn't be suggesting that people take half doses, though. You aren't a GP. People need to follow their doctors' directions on taking their meds. They should only take ½ dose if it was recommended by their doctor. Otherwise, the meds won't work effectively. Especially inhalers. There is a reason why they are no longer available over the counter. They contain steroids. Which help to open up the airways. There were too many people using it that didn't really need it, or they didn't use it correctly. Most meds are prescribed for you, taking your height age and weight into account. Fyi. All meds affect your liver eventually. They all get processed via your liver, etc.

Ethan obviously has had a great life in the sense he's never actually encountered a psychotic person who gets off on spreading lies and making people not like you. It maybe a way for her to get josh to feel insecure in himself and that gives her power. I say psychotic in a general sense because I don't want to diagnose. I've dealt with people like this. I was a ward of the state when I was 16-18 and my probation officer was my guardian, a part of my contract with the state is I was supposed to look for work. just something. I was putting in so much energy and effort to have no success. Like so many applications everyday. To not get a single phone call back. My PO then put me in a job council place and I was assigned this woman. Named Patty. She once tried convincing my probation officer that I was doing horrible and not doing anything she said and fucking up just trying to make me seem like a complete garbage person. Which would mean I would have failed my state contract and gone to juvie for a week. Luckily I had the best probation officer ever. I loved her. I was sitting in the office when Patty happened to call and my PO told me to be quiet and listen and put it on speaker. When the phone call was done by officer looked at me and said " I know you and I know that's bullshit." Again thank God I had a amazing woman for a PO.. If I didn't that could have been life ruining. She just had it out for me for no apparent reason. People like this literally get off on cashing pain and suffering and life ruination. And her job was having power over people in extremely volunerable situations. God knows how many people's lives she's ruined. People that are like that tend to also try and get in careers where they can do life ruination, lie, manipulate on a regular basis. They like to cause pains and hurt for no known reason. The only explanation is they get pleasure in other people's misery.

@@amberevolyou know ur ex way better than a stranger on the internet but i thought this might be good to know? I have severe ADHD & as you'd expect it impacts my ability to concentrate & focus. When ppl are talking to me or I'm in meetings or listening to podcasts etc, I can't really make eye contact and I absent mindedly doodle or fidget or play a monotonous game on my phone (like Tetris or something). This really helps me engage with what someone's telling me :) It's annoying in the workplace bcus I have to explain that if I'm staring at you and nodding along then I'm not actually listening and haven't realised yet. I think Colleen lied about what Josh did during their honeymoon to Shane because it feels like a very calculative move, she was already in the process of ruining Josh's reputation on the KZbin world to keep her way clean to break away from the marriage anytime she wanted, just like she did further worse to Josh after their divorce, that's why she never felt any shame flirting with Eric or any fear of getting caught of cheating while she was still married, that seems like a very narcissistic tactic to me at least.

My guess for why she lied about the honeymoon is that she was mad at Josh. I’ve known people like her, and they will exaggerate and make things up. So maybe he was annoyed about her wanting to film, she decided that it was him “being mean” and then blew that up into him throwing a whole tantrum

It’s impossible to understand the complexities of the 8 Passengers situation without having lived in mormon culture. I was in it for 19 years and most of my family is still mormon. there’s so many things I wish I could explain just how this situation is so much more insane because of how insane mormonism is but that would take hours. Jodi was recommended as a therapist by numerous bishops and was friends with higher-ups in the church. the amount of control and the amount of damage she has done is SO MUCH deeper than this.
@raivenlei Жыл бұрын
yes 100% growing up mormon and still being surrounded by mormon culture gives this story so much more context that i think people who don’t have that experience don’t quite understand. i wish they could have an ex-mormon call in to discuss and elaborate because i’m so invested in their coverage of this story
@lastnoelle Жыл бұрын
100%!!!! love for all my fellow ex mormons here ❤

My understanding is that the only reason Jodi is even qualified as a therapist is through the mormon faith because it is possible to be certified through the Church in Utah? Not sure if I’m 100% correct but something like that
@raivenlei Жыл бұрын
@@Lucaz99 i could be wrong but i don’t think you can be licensed through the church. you still have to do the schooling and go through the state but the church will 100% recommend you to members and bishops will often send you clients that are members of their ward who visit them to confess their sins or ask for help with certain problems. also it’s not necessarily against the rules but most mormons will not go see a therapist who isn’t mormon as well. she likely got a majority of her business through people in the church sending people to her.

The bit showing the Honeymoon vlog of Colleen and Josh gave me very toxic vibes... Colleen makes fun of Joshua saying "vowels" instead of "vows" and slaps him on the chest 'jokingly' but it looks very mockingly to me and Josh looks down right after, from how he talked about their relationship in the Swoop video he's made it clear that Colleen would constantly point out 'mistakes' he made and would criticize him non-stop but would walk away or not show up when he wants to share his feelings.. So then seeing how she walks off as he gets uncomfortable is very telling to me. I do think she was emotionally abusive and manipulative in their relationship, but I also wouldn't be surprised if there have been times where Josh himself got very emotional or angry out of hurt and frustration, to me it's looking like a classic relationship with a narcissist where eventually the narcissist pushes your buttons until you end up losing your shit and then you are the villain.. And considering how that divorce went and how she used her fans to take away any feeling of power he could possibly have (despite it already being a relationship that is skewed in her favour as far as power balance is concerned) I think Josh has been largely truthful. I can imagine he may have left out times where he lost control of his emotions towards Colleen, I wouldn't blame him for that since he's clearly traumatized and was actually abused by Colleen but victims of abusive relationships are rarely a 'perfectly' passive victim in the way people like to imagine they are.

Also when you're in a relationship where your partner is constantly gaslighting you and making you feel insecure and all types of manipulations it starts making you feel crazy when they are the crazy ones. And generally yes you shouldn't go though your partners phone but you also should feel safe, secure and trusting in your relationship to begin with. And if you don't it's likely you're being manipulated. (I'm talking of you usually are a secure person and haven't felt this way all the time)

I think it's hard from a third person view to understand some of the decisions Josh made. I'm sure a lot of the decisions were influenced still by his love for her (it doesn't just stop immediately because they're divorcing). He probably also had hope that they would be able to reconcile so he wouldn't want to do anything to sever that chance. Also, just as he said in the interview, he still felt the need to protect her - I'm sure he didn't want to do anything to hurt her then.
