It's an adults responsibility to turn down a child for inappropriate things. Saying a child "asked for it" is never a defense, and it's VERY telling that she even thought it was. Also, the messages she was sending to kids are textbook grooming casually talking sex to slowly make it normalized and easier to ramp up.
@corablah9809 Жыл бұрын
This. I don't care if a child IS seeking you out, wanting to send you pictures of their bodies, it's a cry for help, a plea for attention because they have spent their entire childhood emotionally neglected. I don't care if a child IS asking for it, they can't consent, full grown fxcking adults CAN EASILY say "this is inappropriate behavior, I am blocking you and contacting your parents because you're making me uncomfortable" I will NEVER UNDERSTAND the men who say "well, she was 14, but she knew what she was doing, asking for me to touch her and everything" huh? She's a child. Say no, remove yourself from the situation and don't look back. I as a child, was 10, seeking out men online to give me tiny bits of attention because I was so lonely and neglected, sewer slide ideation, I was struggling so hard. I, as a 10 year old, was not asking for it. If I had a 10 year old boy messaging me initially saying hi, id simply block them. No. Adult. Should. Be. Talking. To. Children. They. Aren't. Related. To. (unless it's your friends child, and you have children, and it makes sense, I am 23, a mom of 3, I have my neighbors daughter's phone number, she's now 15. It's more like me texting her "hey! Can you come over to play with [my toddler]?"

I hear you, and I’m sorry you were in such an awful situation. When I was 16 I was proposed to by a 24 yr old man, and we married as soon as it was legal for me to do so. My mother encouraged it because she was married at 18 to a 31 year old…she pulled me out of school because “you don’t need school to learn how to be a housewife and mother”. I’m in my 40s now, my first marriage was over by the time I was 21, but it wasn’t easy to get away. I’m also upset that I didn’t get the education I deserved; I tried to later on, and was getting High Distinctions for Physics and Chemistry…but once again had to leave, but this time due to medical circumstances. I did stop the cycle though; I have a daughter in her 20’s now, and the thought of pulling her out of school as a teen and marrying her off sickens me. She got the education she deserved, and has put it to good use in a career she loves. That gives me some peace.

Her brother Trent was also exposed for sending DMs grooming a 13 year old girl on Twitter. They go by "he/they" pronouns now but that the time they still used "she/her". Now another person has come forward and said Josh (Colleen's ex) groomed him while he worked for her on tour at age 22. He was also not allowed to sleep in the hotel or shower there. He was badly bullied on tour. Also, Adam just posted a clip of Miranda's new comedy show and she does a bit mocking her KZbin apology video, basically making it clear that she didn't mean it and making a mockery of Adam's trauma. It's really gross. She will apparently be on tour tomorrow night & is expected to include that bit in her show again. Also, Korey is apparently the worst. To send "corn" to minors is a crime, but even without that, I'm sure Adam's parents could have got a restraining order and maybe that could have prevented other kids to be victimised too. But maybe Adam's mom only knew a fraction of what really was going on. I know Adam was saying that the Weenies, including him, would open accounts in secret from the parents in order to be free to chat with Colleen.

"Gross" is the word I thought of. She took advantage of a child. She manipulated a child. She exploited a child. I watched one episode of her material on Netflix as an adult because Netflix kept recommending it to me, and I thought it was the dumbest thing I had seen in a very long time. I had no idea she was an internet entertainer before the Netflix show. Your assessment of her behavior was fair and rational. She acted in a way that would absolutely cost her a job if she was a teacher or in ministry.

I've followed her since I was in high school. I personally never found her Miranda character funny but found her funny and loved her family. But I always felt something was... off about her. The way she treated her sister was one. She always seemed to treat her as "less", and I've noticed Rachel isn't around her much anymore and I wonder if that's why? I also would notice if she was ever in a video someone else posted she was never as friendly as she came off in her videos. I just always felt like she wasn't as nice of a person as she came off as, but figured what did I know from the little bit I see. But now seeing all this I can see I've always been spot on. This is disgusting, and I hope it ends her career, because if she was a man and he was a young girl it absolutely would end her career and is a complete double standard. It's also super concerning that she has kids of her own, and nieces and nephews that she's around very often. I've also never thought it was appropriate for her brother and sister-in-law to film their kids as much as they do, and same with Colleen and her kids. I feel like KZbinrs who base their channel around their kids don't have their kids' best interest in mind.

Once I was in a group of Twitch/discord buddies and everything was great, but then I heard everyone's voices and realized a couple of them sounded too youthful. So after the vc ended, I sent a message to everyone asking for their ages. One admitted to being 16-17, one said they were an adult in their country but not mine. I told them I was very sorry they would be disappointed, but I had to make the right decision as an adult. The other adults in that group did not make the same choice as me and I had to cut that off as well. Minors, you do not need adult friends and any adult wanting to be your friend should immediately be suspicious. They are not your pseudo-parent. They are not your peer. They are not your special auntie/uncle/sibling. Run from them. They are not safe. (Edit: It's been a few years since this happened, I ALWAYS ask now and cut off anyone that refuses to answer as well. I suggest you do the same)

Males get away with doing this all the time. Most women have stories of adult males doing creepy shit, and not going to jail. You can say this is creepy, and she’s awful without pretending girls/women get justice in these scenarios when victims constantly come forward saying they don’t. You might think you’re uplifting male issues with that statement but what you’re actually doing is downplaying the way girls/women don’t receive justice for what males did to them as teens. My sister was able to date a 26 year old at 16 because it was legal, so to pretend that males would somehow go to jail for doing shit that could very well be legal in certain states is ridiculous, and proves you don’t know what you’re even talking about.

But this is also reminding me of how there’s a theory that when people become “famous” or get a large following they sort of get stuck at their development level at that point. At that age, I thought someone saw me as special and he knew all the things to say and do to make me believe that. I wasn’t, I was a teenager being taken advantage of by a predator. The adult fans rarely message me; the kids are the ones that send me videos and messages (this worries me). When these fans message me I will sometimes give them a like on their message. I do that ONLY if the person sending it seems sensitive or even depressed. So the like is me acknowledging them to avoid hurting their feelings. I cannot imagine conversing with a child online. Tbh Idek if that's true. I see stories everywhere of horrible things famous men hv done to minors, and they seem to just be let off too. Theres a major problem with victims of grooming not being taken seriously universally. Im aware theres likely still some gender disparity when it comes to male and female groomers, but I hope ppl r aware it's not much easier for victims to get justice when their abuser is a man either. Surprisingly when it comes to domestic violence, women r more likely go get arrested then men. I know groomimg and domestic violence are two separate topics but I just want ppl to keep aware that we dont just live in this world where men get away with nothing and women get away with everything. Groomers very often do not get the punishment or loss of support they deserve. This is a huge problem regardless of gender.

We went on vacations together and hung out every week. The woman in my life helped me to grow into a well rounded adult and i appreciate what I learned from them at that time. They never did anything remotely close to how disgusting Coleens' actions were with Adam. I don't see anything wrong with an adult offering appropriate guidance to a teen through an organization that has transparency with the parents of those teens.
