The Academy is too elitist & snotty for that unfortunately, but every now & then they try to appear hip, so maybe who knows? She was surely great. Kyle did a fantastic job. The wrong male in the lead would've been lost working with her.

Labeling Kyle's character as the demon was a lie to the audience, not misdirection

I disagree. From the perspective of The [Electric] Lady, she sees her victims as demons, not human. And she saw him as such. It’s not misdirection, it’s simply through her perspective

Nope. The woman sees demons in the people she kills. She saw a flash of a demon in Kyle’s character when they were in the hotel room together. She was the demon to him.
