So surprised her answer to the first question was Four Weddings and a Funeral. Yes that movie is a good ice breaker I suppose but it's like dipping your toes in. I think I fell in love with her because as I watched The Horse Whisperer for the 1st time as a 12 or 13 year old I was immersed in her performance. Her role was so defining. Her character was piercing and so relatable. I understood the complexity of her relationships in that film. As the movie unfolded, for the 1st time I was given understanding as to why all relationships have such unique complexities. She played the role so beautifully. I absolutely fell in love with her. I'm glad that is the first film I saw. Otherwise, I may have despised the other film roles enough to underlook her genius. But as it would be I was enthralled and kept searching for more. More performances. More depth. More storytelling. She does not disappoint but she has an uncanny and annoying way of leaving me wanting something more. That is the genius part. Kristen Scott Thomas.
