A new tutorial on how to generate collision sound effects in UE4 with Wwise. Creating natural and realistic sounds for collisions it's a true challenge. I hope this video can be a good starting point!

Thank you so much for the video! I'm using UE 5.2. For some reason the filter doesn't seem to be doing anything and sounds keep spamming like crazy. I noticed that on my session the GreaterThan -node's input pin doesn't turn bright green when connected to VectorLength's Return Value. I wonder if that means it's not active or something. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Very nice! One thing I'm curious though, wouldn't be easier to use the playback limit in wwise to limit how many sounds you want to trigger per hit instead of the do once? I've done this with UE5's own concurrent system and it seems working fine

Because with RTPC we can produce difference pitch sounds depending on the collision speed (strong impact = higher sound, soft impact = lower sound). And of course we optimise our project since we are manipulating a single audio file :)

Thank you! For footsteps you need to use a different method. This tutorial is specifically for collision sounds where you need to link hit velocity to sound features.

@@SoundCodex I also want to link hit velocity sound features to the footsteps, I want a different sound if I'm running, jumping, falling in ground or touching any object in the game world, I want a dynamic sound for all the character's interactions, something like was done for this cube you taught So, do you think it would be possible to make this adaptation? tnks

In 5.2.1 I don't have "Post event" and "Set RTPCValue" any idea?

Unfortunately I'm not using Wwise with UE5 right now, so I can't tell you much. It seems strange btw. Did you integrated Wwise correctly? Does everything else work properly?
