Even though Little Mac is seen as bottom 5 tier, Peanut's hard dedication to the character allows him to do so well by knowing his strengths and match ups. Low tier doesn't mean worthless after all. Probably the main reason why Peanut's winning is people don't usually fight Little Mac enough (since people typically go for characters like Aegis or Fox, some characters high to mid tier) to prepare for what Mac can do, especially when Peanut's the top player of Little Mac. And considering Sonic was one of the controversial characters (as Vars mentioned, Sonic's best tactic is not playing the game), maybe don't swap to him of all characters.
